Phew, well now that I've won it I can divulge that the set in question was 4888 Ocean Odyssey, thankfully there were no other bids because I stupidly thought "I need this badly enough that I'll bid £70 for it" which was dumb, luckily I didn't find that out the hard way. Also I'd been checking the listing probably three times an hour all day and then almost missed the end because we started watching the last episode of Adolescence which sucked me in almost immediately. Luckily I had the foresight to set an alarm...



The little submarine fits inside the big one and the thing on the left attaches to the thing on the right, the big sub also has a hatch on the back to load the sonar buoys you can see coming out of the bottom. I think the scale of that photo is off, though, the big sub isn't that big.

I'll be keen to build this one to sniff out any broken or non-Lego pieces (an unfortunate hazard buying used but meh, it's cheap) so will share my own photos when I do.

That takes me back to my childhood, being confused as to why Lego boats don't float... So many drowned pirates! At least submarines are supposed to sink.

I had some kids meal from McDonald's or Hardee's or somewhere like that that came in a boat shaped box with a plastic bottom. I kept the bottom to put my Lego boats in.

OT, but I just watched it and thought it was quite boring. I thought they could have completely skipped the 3rd episode and tacked on the last little bit of the last episode to the end of episode 2 and made it 2 episodes, or just a regular movie.
