And I've also signed up to a photography course online thanks to Groupon which I'm hoping will give me a greater insight to the confusing world of photography.
Glad to read this, excellent decision. If you need further help don't hesitate to ask. Save up for the best glass you can get and try (at first) to find out which range you use most to help you cut down on the # of lenses you need / want to bring along. Atm you already have a bit of duplication in focal lengths. And yes I've been there too, but finally realised that I don't need a gazillion lenses, only a few but they are top of the range and will last me a lifetime.

Another good investment to make is Lightroom, tons of free 'you tubes' out there on how to use this software. Have a look at the B&H videos in their event space.

may sound like a bit of a dumb question but...cant photoshop do the same thing as lightroom?
or does it have more "photo editing" options rather than creative options?

a couple of people have recommended lightroom but looks quite advance for me! but as you said there are youtube videos!

Bit difficult to explain in a few sentences. Lightroom is made up of 7 modules, Library, Develop, Map, Book, Slideshow, Print and web.
The library is where you keep track of all your photographs. It is a database and contrary to what people think it does NOT contain photographs - only links/pointers to where your pics are on your hard disk.
The 'problem' is that LR lets you think it is importing pics in to the database but all it does is import the location of the file.
LR should really find a better verb for this.
The develop module allows you to edit your pic without destroying the original.

IF you're not yet shooting in RAW I strongly urge you to switch to it.

LR is used almost exclusively by photographers nowadays and you can still EDIT IN PS if you want to make e.g. composite photos.

Here's a link t help you on your way. https://www.youtube.com/user/BHPhotoVideoProAudio/search?query=tim grey

LR is a lot cheaper than PS, and covers 99% of your needs. If you decide to go to PS too I would suggest the Elements version instead of full blown PS.
