My pseudo-Mac

Guessing computer class and it's his assigned computer. Funny how Macintosh is used in school nowadays (easier UI than PC - apparently) instead of PC's.
I guess that we in Finland are behind the time on this thing then, but then again schools here buy the cheapest possible (and usually quite bad) computers anyway.

cheapest possible
That's not the case in my town. They just built a $1 million megatron for the football field, a "New Tech" school, 2 elementaries, and one 3 story middle school. All of which have Mac's (late 2011) for computers.

Our district tries to give us only the best.

I would never want to have to be forced to use a Mac/iOS device for school. Too frustrating for me..
I have an iPad 2, and an HP Laptop. When people were first saying that tablets are the new laptop I believed them for a while. Now with Windows 8(.1) and live tiles (which I wish there was a way to get more people involved) that was definitely hype.
Even the Surface Pro is nowhere near as good as a conventional laptop. My friend and I were taking a test and he had problems throughout the entire process of not being able to access some of the more complex settings.

Is this a public/private/college we are talking about?
Seems like your county is going through a massive growth spurt too.

So I tried out Rainmeter, and thought it was pretty neat. I then decided to make a custom background for it. It even works with the Start screen, which is nice. I'm considering going back and putting something in the middle of the white space either permanently or for holidays and stuff.

A couple hours* making the 3 layers - Hiccup and the text are on the 2nd and 3rd layer respectively - and an App called 3D Parallax Background.

The top two layers can't be cropped in-app the way the back layer can, so I had to keep adjusting their position in a 2048x2048 box to make sure they fit on the screen where I wanted them. I also had to move Toothless' head down a bit to stop him fro popping up over Hiccup's head, since I couldn't find that pose that showed anywhere above that point.

Decided to have a look at what my computer would look like with a different back-ground.

It's not bad, but if I ever decide to keep it, I'll have to play around with colours and placement of the clock an the other info. Because I can't be bothered to do that right now back to the last background I had:
