I picked up the game a day early ( the 6th ) Best Buy guy was nice to me. Anyway, i am enjoying it, but its like going back in time to play. At first I was a little dissapointed due to the graphics, but the game is still highly fun to play, its fantastic finally getting to whip around Liberty in a bike. You'll notice alot more people on the side walks and more cars on the road. The voice acting is great but I am not warming to the main character the same was as I had in previous GTA games. ( even Silent boy in GTA3 ) But so far, the storyline is strong, and the enjoyability factor is high. I'd give it a 7.9 out of 10. ( esp when considering the price point )

I've just finished the main storyline missions for the game on PSP.
Just now have to do side missions and packages and stuff like that.

I'll get this one since I never owned GTA III anyway. Long time I don't touch a GTA game at all actually.

The missions are different between the two games, I think LCS is a prequel game to GTA 3. GTA3 is probably quite cheap now so you might as well get that also.

Yeah, it's like $3.99 or less at Gamestop.:dopey:

Edit: Here in the U.S.

I went around to 2 different shops near by me after work today to pick up my copy of LCS and neither had them in stock. In my local Harvey Norman store, the guy insisted that LCS was a PSP game and that it wasn't new and he looked at me as if I was crazy for suggesting that it was out on PS2 at all. I eventually convinced him that it was due out on PS2 today, so he checked their computers, verified that it was out today but said there was no copies in stock and they weren't expecting any soon.

So I wandered off to the PC World store which is also within walking distance on my way home from work. They stock Console games - PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, etc., but the staff members I asked just stared at me blankly and said if it's not on the shelf, then they don't have it. They'd obviously never heard of it.

I'll have to check Virgin Megastores in town tomorrow. Hopefully they've got it in stock.

lol I'd love to see the look on their faces

Pfft. Virgin Megastore didn't have it and their only explanation was a shoulder shrug from one of their staff members. I also tried a local CD/DVD/video game store and all I got was blank stares from the staff. Neither Virgin or the other shop bothered to even check if the game was in stock or when it would be available. As far as they were concerned, it was either a PSP game or they weren't aware of it.

It's a hell of a change from when I bought San Andreas when there was a queue stretching out the door of the shop waiting to buy it. Now the staff aren't even aware of the game I want. And questions just draw blank stares.

I got mine at Zellers yesterday (sort of like the Canadian version of Wal-Mart). I only played the opening mission so far. I guess one thing I was a little disappointed with at first is that the d-pad felt a bit unresponsive while driving, which is what I use to drive with, but the analog stick does the trick anyway :). Looks like it'll be a fun game 👍.

Any idea of the Australian release date? I'm itchin' for some GTA3-ish-erin'.

Well I did'nt know it was out (I live in England so it proably is'nt even out yet). Anyone know a UK realease date?

GAME says 23rd!

Hmm. Why did those eejits in Harvey Norman agree with me about the 9th being the release date when it obviously isn't? I think they just found the game on their computer system and didn't even check the release dates or anything.

I can now understand the blank stares I got from staff in other shops.

Great game so far-- I think I'm about done with the first islands missions-- pretty good story and side missions/tasks so far-- could be a bit more challenging missions but overall not too bad. Loving riding the motor cycles in Liberty city-- the story is probably not as good as III (I'll have to finish it to decide) but they added some things to this that were missing from III that would have made III as good as VC--- overall I'm very happy with this game (other then the lack of time to play). I'm being purposely vague in case anyone was wondering... no need to spoil it.

The game is definitely a prequel to III (in response to the post few back)--

If you read the "news paper" included with the game you will find out why they don't have motor cycles in III-- pretty funny and a little clever.

IMO the graphics are as good as III-- so its not a step down... if feels like they used something similar to the III/VC game engine if not the same. I can't imagine a true GTA fan will be disapointed unless they are one of those that think SA is great because of all the small things you can do--- (tatoos, change appearance, dating, etc...) and expected this to be SA equivalent or better... its more of an improved gaming retool of III-- well worth the money.

Did they bring back the rampages?

And does it have the usual minigames and side missions like hidden packages and unique stunts?

KM.

Strangely, I haven't found any rampages yet--

I've only collected 8 packages although I can see 2 more. I've done only 2 unique jumps...

I've mainly done missions although I spent some time driving bikes around-- only about 4-5 hours of gameplay (there is a gameplay clock in your stats unlike III)

They are there. I've only seen a few and I havent actually done any, but I have seen the little floating icons. Or whatever you call them.
I have 15 hidden packages so far. There are a few that I have no idea on how to get, and some of them are real easy to get.

ive got 98 of 100 hidden packages and i cannot find the other 2, i have NO idea where they are

ive done all the rampages, i hate the chainsaw ones, they suck.

18 out of 26 unique jumps, a hint here is not all of them can be done with a bike

May i point to towards this thread, where the dicussion has moved on to.
