Too easy like other GTs.

I miss the test who you must do turns around a pile of tires in a white Impreza, thats the best test so far.

Yeah ... now you mention it .... that were cool tests .... with different drives (FR/FF/MR) :D

In general, and more specifically certain tests, yes its too easy. Although I had a hell of a time with IC-10.

The good part about the hard ones is it really helps you learn how to drive, because if you don't do it effectively, you fail.

However one week after I got the game, I didn't expect to have 50 gold license trophies. I just got lvl 15 last night so I'll start the S tests this weekend.

My assesment on golding the license tests as with any test or challenge in a video game, is it must walk the fine line between what I call the "banzai luck run" and say "a person well versed at the game being able to do the test 2 out of three times."

Needless to say this can be difficult to judge and establish.

Personally I prefer the tests to be track oriented, not cones or circles or other cutesy d++++++t.

Early GTs were too "banzai" oriented, easing a bit in GT3 and I think reaching a more perfect balance in GT4.

I've only done the A and B in this game so far, and I think some maybe a little too easy, and some about right.

The tests in general are imho way too easy in this game except IC which was the hardest one for me...
To be honest though I prefer them being the way they are in GT5 than the way they were in GT1 where I didn't even try to get more than bronze, way too hard for me.
I'm wondering if it would have been the same if we had the same kind of wheels we have now, I might try playing with my G25 on GT1 to see if it changes anything.

Clearly I'm just a terrible player, because I struggled for ages trying to upgrade silvers to golds on B5, B6 and B10

haha

Hi, The GT1 license tests where 'Class', true test of skill indeed 👍
it should be the same on GT5, pass the test to open more of the game.

I dont know how the **** so many people think these are way too easy. Im starting to struggle to get silvers on IB. I practice alot but just dont get closer. I really question the realism, in the sense that if you actually follow the line and the tips, you dont stand a chance. It seems like you just have to go bloody rambo style to get gold on them

Remember it's easy to brag on the internet where no one can call you out. So not everyone saying they "got all golds with no problem" actually can back it up.

I think the tests are about right. A good player should be able to pass (i.e. get bronze) most of them on the first try or first few tries. Even a newcomer would probably be able to get it pretty quickly. Silver is attainable with some effort. Gold seems to be a little easier to get than on past GTs, but you still need to be a damn good driver.

You guys are funny, after playing sim type games for quite a few years, why are surprised that you can blow through the license test with ease? Just shows that your level of skill has increased considerably, when I think something is too easy it's either I am too good or it wasn't hard enough. There are people struggling with license tests, the license tests are always much easier with a DS3, use a FF wheel and that changes drastically. Controller input is infinitely faster than the wheel, wheel turns maybe be 1.2:1 ratio or something like that the controller it's like lower than 1:1 steering. Just pick any car and go to the outside view and hold the look back cam and turn the wheel with the controller watch how fast it moves, with the wheel it's much slower and requires you to crank hard when the car isn't moving. To me it's like the difference to driving a Toyota Corolla LE power nothing versus driving a Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer power everything(you can literally steer this thing with one finger, I tried it). Controllers afford you a measure of quick control that you cannot match with the wheel, but the wheel gives you immersion that the controller lacks. Wheel is still better for most things, driving the Karussel with a control is a lesson in patience, lol twitchy as hell in that thing.

Rejoice you are increasing in skill to no end, true test will be online. Can't wait for the new patches to be uploaded.

I think they are too easy. Like mentioned above the rally tests are way too easy! I think gold should be hard even for good players. I know i am a better driver now then when i played gt4 but i think gt 5 have much easyer licence tests.

I have to kind of agree. I just finished all the license tests with gold last night and I wasn't all that excited about it. When i started doing the s tests i was like "that's it huh?" there were a couple of the S licenses that I golded my first run. That should not happen. Oh well. Some of the special events I'm having a really hard time golding so I guess it evens out.

The only ones I've found "too easy" so far are the S-license tests (besides S8, because I just can't get used to having the stupid aids on). So far I've fully-golded B, and have like 2 left on A (can't get the stupid slalom on gold, I guess I don't know the technique). Everything else is a mixture of silver and gold, but a few of the silvers were even difficult to attain, and the gold times are another second off of the silver time. I intend to finish up S with all golds, but then I'll leave the rest of the licenses silver for a while, as I need to get on with the meat of the game.

So no, I don't think they're too easy as a whole, as you still have to work fairly hard to get gold in some of them.

Or maybe I just suck :D

Your all out of your minds.

The Golds require complete precision.

if your all getting "Bronze" then fine. Easy as pie, but they are bronze... So who cares.

FYI: I use a wheel, clutch, Chair

DS3 players shouldn't comment. Chumps!

I will vouche on this also. I was about to kill my PS3 because with IC-10 you have to be precise in order to catch up to the first car...

I found B-5 really frustrating and ended up having to use a glitch where you cut across a section long before the corner. I hate cheating! Also my first attempts are almost always my best as that ghost car keeps putting me off! Why can't it be switched off?

I think you bring out some very valid points here.

We are talking about applying a wide range of driving skills.
This makes it very difficult to judge.

I was doing this test for like 2 hours, after 1 hour I was like "am doing it wrong". I actually checked for some tips and after that it took like 10 runs.

I find the S tests fun, but I love going banzai for a mad lap. Got 6 of 10 golds.

As for hard tests to gold, the slaloms, the 2 lap challenge in the 512, and IC-3. Grrrr

I agree. IC-3 is challenging - I've spent 30 minutes on it and only managed Silver (off by 0.118 seconds). I use a DFGT and no aids on where the game allows. However, I found B --> IC-2 too easy so far. IC-3 has been the first "stop" in my way. I've gold in all the other ones.

Okay, I won't lie.. IC-1 took many attempts too.. launching the DB9 perfectly took a while. When I finally got it down pact, my time was -0.017 seconds.

I find the license tests are alot easier this time...but then again it's probably cuz it's the first time i'm using the wheel for these kinds of tests. For the previous GT's it was all on the Dual Shock.

And I just completed the IA tests last night and these tests were probably the easiest ones out of all the tests so far (haven't started on the S' yet). I've golded all my license tests and refuse to do anything else until I do so. To Gold all IA, it only took me about 2 hours or so. The hardest type of tests for me are the braking ones as they leave VERY VERY little room for error.

In my opinion all the license tests were way too easy, much easier than previous GT's. None of them in GT5 held me up for more than 10mins in GT5 unlike older GT's. (all golds)

Top gear Elise 111R challenge on the other had had me for a while. (gold)

Update:

Just spent about 3 hours last night golding IC-10.

I would say it was anything but easy.

The hardest part of that kind of challenge, is not overdriving the car, which in this case was very easy to do.

weardly, i found the ic-10 easy but kept overdriving the car as SuperCobraJet said, but the 512bb is quite predictable and fun to drive :)

and i'm using a DS3 but don't really know if it's better than a wheel...

To be honest, I don't care how hard or difficult they are (although IMO they are a little bit wet when compared to how hardcore preious versions have been).

I would much rather they give you something, a sense of accomplishment maybe...

There should be restrictions on races, rally licenses, actual restrictions instead of just a reason to hoard XP and the prize cars.

all in all i would say:
PIECE OF CAKE...
(and i am not the best driver and i use pad...)

all other gold so far...only 7 of 10 S licence are left for me...
I'll see how hard/difficult this rest is

in GT4 I still have two golds missing... i guess you knwo wich ones... LOL

The License that disappointed me the most was the S License, I found it ridiculously easy.
1 Lap Magic.
They should have done S-10 like Mission 34...

Some are easy, but B5 I spent a good hr on over the weekend. Super satisfying once I beat it, I'm going for all golds but have put it on hold at the moment till I can backup my save. But I love the licence tests, I wish there was more!

Which one was B-5?
