License demonstration

i started playing GT4 yesterday. Haven't played for over a year now. Since I don't have a ps2 anymore I play on my ps3. Anyway, the demonstration runs for the licenses doesn't work. Well they work but on many of them it doesn't complete the test. The driver who drove it failed, either going on the grass or slamming into a wall. I don't remember it being like this when i played it before.
Could it be because I am playing on ps3? That seems very weird, I know, and I don't think thats the reason anyway.
has anyone else seen this? Has it always been like this? I didn't use them much before so I don't know.

They show demos in which the driver FAILS? Jeez, I never seen anything like that! :dunce: That can't be right.

Yes, it's a known issue with playing GT4 on a PS3. The demo runs are "broken." I don't know of a fix other than playing it on a PS2, where all the demos work.

Same on my ps3. Only ever played on a 3. But some of them are perfect. But if you run the license then fail, when you play the demo its a re run of your failed run.

OHhhh, so that's the mystery! Perhaps the console gets confused and reads the wrong file or something.

No, it's similar to running a PAL replay on a NTSC console or vice versa. The actions that the driver does are the same, but the timing is either a little slower or faster and it causes the replay to get out of sync enough to cause a crash. It happens with the demos in replay theater too, and replays saved from a PS2.
