A small addition to GT. Mabey if the license plates in the game said your name, like this

it would kind of spruce up the car a bit. This is a small thing. Please dont argue  .

That's a great idea, but why stop there? Each car should have an individual license plate with the option to customize it :D Haha that would be awesome. 1000+ different license plates :D Maybe even load Jpgs or Bmps off the hard drive to use as license plates. I'm not joking around it's a small and useless thing, but it'd be fun to play around with nonetheless :dopey:

Says one minute here.

If it used the users custom JPGs off the hard drive, it would only take as much or as little space as you cared to dedicate to it.
Instead of, or in addition to that, simple custom plates would be easy to implement. Pick a country style, font and backround colours, and type in whatever.

Yes, but wouldnt that take up alot of disc space. Thats alot of plates :scared: .

If it was just text, no. Figure each of a thousand cars has a unique license plate with six letters/numbers. Each letter is only one byte, so that's a whopping 6K. For all one thousand cars. Even if you included variables like color or style, you'd still be looking at only 10K or so. Which is only a small fraction of the save game data anyway. I mean, it takes more space than that to store car information, like what upgrades you have, color, mileage, etc.

An also the fact that a single layer BD has 25GB, dual layer has 50GB, and if they do pull through with the 4 layer BD, that's a whopping 100GB, so space shouldn't be a big deal. Unless they add all the cars in the world ever created

I was referring to the save-games, so the disc format doesn't really matter. :)

Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition has customizable plates. 1 plate for every state. Well of course 3 or 4 plates for california. The only prob with this in GT5 would be putting British/European plates on a US ONLY car. US license plates are much smaller. So uh, yeah.

Yes. I agree. But not name specific. Just fully customizable. That's all. 👍
