* JOIN THE LIFE IN LOS SANTOS ROLE PLAY COMMUNITY NOW!

* There is not a lot of members signed up as I have just started this RP up, but if you are interested... Get involved. This has potential to be awesome and fulfilling.

I decided to start this community because I noticed that we, as PlayStation 3 gamers don’t really have a lot of access to role-play lobbies in GTA V’s online mode. X Box gamers have a number of role-play communities that continue to grow each day and they got this whole thing down to a science. I literally searched all over the web for a RP community for GTA V and found nothing, and was sourly disappointed (as I expect most of you have been).

Another reason I wanted to start a community was because a lot of RP lobbies just take things way too far and suck the fun out of the game. Yes, there will be rules and regulations in order for this thing to work, but nothing too strict. For example, you’ll still be able to drive through red lights (just as long as the cops aren’t watching!) and we won’t be carting players off to prison for every wrong they commit unless they blatantly disrespected the rules of the RP.

THE WORLD WILL BE FULLY ALIVE

Los Santos will be fully alive. Every character with their unique personality and profession bring something new to the game. Every interaction you will make during your time here will count for something. Let’s say for example, you were just having a casual walk on Vespucci Beach and started having a friendly conversation with someone else in the community. Let’s say you find out this person is some king pin. You become buddies. You go to his house. You end up working for him, or you end up betraying and killing him. Relationships are key in this game. News and updates will be posted to this forum to let you know what each character in our Los Santos is doing. That way everybody will be able to progress the story and stay true to it. Everybody has a role to play.

THIS IS A ROLEPLAY BASED IN LOS SANTOS (AND TECHNICALLY, BLAINE COUNTY)!!!

Therefore, please don't suggest or request outlandish things such as, I don’t know… To start the Furry Bunny MC or something. The role you select for your character should be in line with Life in Los Santos (and there is no Furry Bunny MC in GTA V, so there shall be none in our community). Think of it as us creating our own story mode for GTA V. We even welcome non-criminal and cop roles within the community. So even movie stars, rappers, strippers and whoever else are more than welcome to join the community.

GANGS

Gangs will play a very big and important role in Life in Los Santos. Each gang has their own turf, dress code, hierarchy, rules and characteristics. These characteristics must be adhered to at all times. Gangs can build alliances and enemies within the game. Once there is enough members in Life in Los Santos, these gangs will be allowed to break into smaller "sets" (for example the Families will have the a sub set called Forum Gangstas, they may even beef with other Families sets and build alliances with traditional rivals such as sets from The Ballas). More details about each gang are contained in the Gangs section of the Life in Los Santos forums. You can request to join a gang in the Recruitment section of these forums.

LOS SANTOS POLICE DEPT.

The LSPD play an interesting and important role in Life in Los Santos. At least one cop must be present in a session in order for the session to take place. Cops can choose to either be crooked or upstanding (unless there is only one cop in the session, he/she has no choice but to be upstanding due to being understaffed). Cops are allowed to stop you and check up on you, especially if you have built an infamous reputation for yourself as a criminal. Cops duties include checking up on traffic violations - if a cop sees you run a red light or driving reckless, he is allowed to stop you, if you run, he is allowed to pursue you)

When a cop is chasing you, you will only lose them if you manage to get out of sight and about 200 yards away. They are only allowed to beat you with a nightstick, when you die, they are obliged to take you to jail. If your crime involved a firearm or you start shooting at the cops, they are allowed to shoot back. A crooked cop could kill you at a routine traffic stop however, so be careful about who you're dealing with.

MERRYWEATHER SECURITY

Perhaps one of the most interesting organizations within Life in Los Santos... Merryweather have a lot of fun roles to play.

Players within the world can go to Merryweather for a number of helpful (and sometimes costly) services. These services include:

    • Onsite and property protection
    • Assassins/hitmen for hire

    • Courier/transport service

Merryweather are neutral and all players and gangs can interact with them. They are also immune from prosecution by the police due to them actually being a legit security company.

PARTIES & MEETINGS

Players within Life in Los Santos can host parties and meetings in the Vinewood Hills, the beach, their turf & wherever else is deemed fit. Be careful if you are in a gang though, enemies can come and shoot up these meetings and parties. Cops can also end meetings and parties if they have a valid reason to do so. Different gangs meeting up to build alliances or do business must also be weary of the police showing up and arresting everyone.

MISSIONS & CONTENT CREATORS

GTA: Online has a content creator which, when used properly, can enrich our role play. Members of Life in Los Santos are encouraged to create missions and deathmatches as long as it fits in well with the RP. For example, I created a capture mission which takes place between Ballas & Vagos turf. It fits the roleplay, because I included gang member NPC's from both the Vagos and Ballas each to aid their respective teams.

WEAZEL NEWS

I highly doubt that anyone would want to roleplay as a news reporter (if you do however, you're more than welcome over here), so the role of news reporters mainly takes place on the forum specifically the News & Updates section. A news reporters job is to get all the latest news of what's happening within the world and then relay it to the News & Updates section. (eg. 4 members of the Families gang were murdered last night!, Gang member Herb was arrested last night, etc...)

RULES & REGULATIONS

*- Please follow the rules of the community, failure to do so leads to reprimand and could result in a suspension/ban.

1. IF THERE IS ONLY ONE COP IN THE SESSION, EVEN IF HIS/HER ROLE IS THAT OF A CROOKED COP, HE WILL HAVE TO REMAIN UPSTANDING & LAW ABIDING

It is necessary due to the LSPD being understaffed on said day.

2. DO NOT ABUSE PLAYERS

Sure, you can insult each other for the RP’s sake but when these get too personal and turn into attacks, there is a highly likelihood of a ban.

3. HAVE A MIC/HEADSET

Stick to the story and don’t be afraid to talk. Everybody is playing a role anyway and on top of that, this community is encouraged to be helpful and friendly. If you don’t have a mic/headset, you will need to invest in one because it is required to play Life in Los Santos.

4. NO RANDOM KILLING

This rule speaks for itself really.

5. TANKS, JETS, ROCKET LAUNCHERS, GRENADES, GRENADE LAUNCHERS, ASSAULT SHOTGUNS & MINIGUNS ARE FORBIDDEN

Helicopters are allowed if it matches up to the story, but they are forbidden to shoot rockets.

6. OBEY POLICE OFFICERS

If you disobey and/or run away the officer is allowed to use a nightstick to beat you down. When you get knocked out and respawn, he is obliged to take you to the Bolingbroke Penitentiary where will you spend 2 game hours for the first infraction, 5 for the second & 10 for the third. If you get caught yet again, you will have to spend another 10 game hours there. If you break the rules, you will also be sent to jail.

7. POLICE ARE ALLOWED TO USE NECESSARY FORCE

Meaning, if you pull out a gun and shoot at them, they are allowed to shoot you on site.

8. STAY IN CHARACTER

Let’s say you are a Balla gang member… You are not likely to be driving around in luxury cars or wearing anything other than purple. Stick to your character’s role.
