I'm waiting for Amazon to post up the LCE so I can preorder it, $80 doesn't seem all that outlandish either considering you get the $20 VIP membership with it too.

In case you don't want to link:

FORZA MOTORSPORT 5 LIMITED EDITION
With multiple car packs, VIP membership privileges, and packed-in content, the Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition is the ultimate package for Forza Motorsport 5 fans. The Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition features the all-new 2014 Audi RS7 Sportback on the cover and includes the following digital content:

Limited Edition Car Pack – This five-car pack features new cars that are already destined for legendary status. Each car in the “Forza Motorsport 5” Limited Edition Car Pack will feature a Limited Edition livery and will be tuned to the top of its respective class. The cars in the “Forza Motorsport 5” Limited Edition Car Pack include*:

2011 Audi RS3 Sportback – More than a mere grocery-getter, the RS3 Sportback marries performance with practicality. The result is a 340-horsepower grin-generator that will paste your head to the back of the seat and not crack a single egg in the process.

2012 Aston Martin Vanquish – As comfortable on the track as it is on cozy country lanes, the Aston Martin Vanquish is equal parts refined style and snarling, road-taming grit.

2013 Ford M Shelby Mustang GT500 – While the GT500’s aggressive lines suggest raw power and straight-line speed to spare, the sound of that big 5.8-liter V8 simply screams, “Get out of the way!”

2013 McLaren P1™ – The successor to McLaren’s legendary F1, the McLaren P1™ is an automotive highlight reel: technological innovation, gorgeous contours, and pure, unapologetic performance. Epic, legendary, astounding – words tend to fail when describing this car’s limitless potential.

2013 SRT Viper GTS – The return of the Viper has been celebrated by automotive fans worldwide. With an 8.4-liter V10 that’s capable of pushing the GTS to a top speed north of 200 mph, the 2013 Viper GTS has once again firmly entrenched its spot near the top of the American Muscle hierarchy.

VIP Membership – Forza Motorsport 5 VIPs enjoy exclusive benefits, including 2x player reward acceleration, access to exclusive multiplayer events, an exclusive in-game player card badge, and in-game gifts from the Forza community team.** VIPs will also have access to the Forza Motorsport 5 VIP Car Pack, featuring five amazing cars only available to VIP members, including:

1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C — Marketed as “the fastest streetcar in the world,” the 427 S/C is the most desirable of all the Shelby Cobra variants. Out of the 100 that were planned only 53 were built. They are nothing less than a purpose-built race car converted at the last minute for street use.

1987 RUF CTR Yellowbird — Dubbed the “Yellowbird” by journalists during a test drive event, the 1987 RUF CTR Yellowbird earns its name thanks to the canary-like chirping of its twin turbo blow-off valve. Just 29 of these cherished classics were built.

1991 Mazda #55 787B – One of the most beloved race cars of all time, the 787B holds the distinction as being Japan’s only winner of a 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Featuring a brash green and orange livery and an unmistakable screaming Wankel rotary engine, the 787B continues to inspire more than 20 years after its debut.

2011 Ford F150 SVT Raptor — Say hello to your rear view mirror's worst nightmare. The Raptor is essentially a factory-built pre-runner race truck with suspension to match its under-the-hood muscle. Slide it, jump it, whatever you like — it just begs for more.

2011 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport – Even among hypercars, the Veyron Super Sport stands alone. After all, this is the car that currently holds the Guinness record for “World’s Fastest Car” at speeds approaching 270 mph.

In addition, Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition owners will receive a custom Steelbook™ case, a decal sheet featuring “Forza Motorsport 5”, “Xbox One”, and Audi window decals, and 1,250 car tokens (a $9.99 value) that will allow Limited Edition owners instant access to any car in the game. The Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition will be available for an estimated retail price of $79.99 at launch and is now available for pre-order at participating retailers.

FORZA MOTORSPORT 5 DAY ONE EDITION
Forza Motorsport 5 fans will also have the option to pre-order the Forza Motorsport 5 Day One Edition, featuring the Day One Car Pack and special Day One commemorative packaging with artwork that matches the Xbox One Day One console design.

Day One Car Pack – This three-car pack features amazing cars from Lamborghini, Audi, and Ford; each with a Day One-themed livery and custom tuning package created by the experts at Turn 10. The Day One Car Pack includes the following cars*:

2010 Audi TT RS Coupe – Stuffed stem to stern with modern tech, the TT RS is the first TT model to carry Audi’s famed RS badge – a distinction that’s earned on the track from the moment you step on the gas.

2013 Ford Focus ST – Debuting with the same 247-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine from the much larger Ford Explorer SUV, the new Ford Focus ST packs a serious punch.

2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera – Like great sculpture, the Superleggera’s chiseled form is carefully considered for maximum impact. That’s where the similarities end, however, because this work of art is best appreciated when it’s moving at top speed.

The Day One edition of Forza Motorsport 5 will be available for an estimated retail price $59.99 at launch and is now available for pre-order at participating retailers.

Will definitely be getting the LE version, really like the inclusion of car tokens as a part of it.👍

Also, any word on a Day One version of the LE?

Is anyone else outraged that the P1 requires the purchase of the LE?

The way I read it is that they will just be special versions of the cars(same with the Day One cars).

Limited Edition Car Pack will feature a Limited Edition livery and will be tuned to the top of its respective class. The cars in the “Forza Motorsport 5” Limited Edition Car Pack include*:

Sort of like the LE cars for GT5.

I assume the Day One 3-pack will be packaged with the LCE. It'd be silly otherwise...

Still, slightly disappointing; while its good to see these cars confirmed to have made the jump to the new system, there's nothing new other than the P1. Oh, and the RS7's confirmation, I suppose.

Note:
The cars featured in the Limited Edition Car Pack and the Day One Edition Car Pack of Forza Motorsport 5 have been customized with unique Xbox One liveries and feature custom tunes designed by the developers at Turn 10 to improve performance above their stock counterparts. The stock versions of these cars will also be available on disc in Forza Motorsport 5.

Why do they put the Cobra, CTR, 787B and F150 into the VIP Pack? :grumpy:
It's the only LCE content I care about but it isn't worth $20 for me.

The LCE is worth the extra $20 though since it comes with $30 (value) worth of stuff.

Yes, if you want to pay for cheats (car tokens, 2x player reward acceleration) :sly:.

The FM4 LCE included a book and an additional car pack (10 muscle cars). Things I value more.

Man, I would love to pre-order this ASAP, but until I hear that the current wheels can work with the Xbox One, it will just be a waste of my money.

Thanx Chris been waiting on some info on this....Headed to Gamestop tomorroo...Wonder if there will be exclusive cars for different venders like FM4 was....wasnt a fan of that

I gotta say I do love that box design. New home space shown with the R18?

It kinda looks like the Forzavista Lobby that they've shown the stationary P1, and that Open Wheel race car, just a bit darker.

Yep you're right, hadn't seen that video in a while and forgot about those cabinets in the BG.

Dear god T10 is twisting the screws to it's customers. 3 separate DLC packs before the game has even been released? Do you guys really find value in this? Speak with your wallets and don't buy it, otherwise this **** is just going to get worse with every release.

It's standard industry practice now for consoles. If you're going to speak with your wallet you'll end up not buying very many games.

But the way I see the DLC is that it's a bonus for people who buy the LCE or Day One Edition and they are just making it available for people who, for whatever reason, don't get either of them.

Ah. The pragmatic answer rears its head once again.

At least only the VIP cars are actually kept from the player otherwise.

It's actually better than the $99 crap PD did for the GT5 CE. The value is different to each person, I'd end up purchasing the VIP and everything else is enough to get me to get it.

One thing I dislike about Turn 10 releasing the Limited Editions is when they release it out to the public later, after everyone had purchase it. When they do that, it should be FREE for everyone to download. I made sure to not felt for that with FH, don't care to be VIP anymore.

I also find it kinda annoying how they can just lock down previous cars from Forza in these editions. Should be free when they release it later in my opinion.

That would just make things much worse. Atleast if you wanted those cars you still had to buy them. Making them for free afterwards would be a big FU to the people that actually got those editions on initial release.

Yeah you do make a good point, and I think I was thinking of something else like those cars that sold in each store. My mistake. But I'll still stand by point about still not liking the fact that cars from previous Forza are being put into these things. Before someone saids "Don't like it, don't buy it", I never planned to, was just a concern.

The VIP Pass is also purchasable separately, for $19.99. the Day 1 and LCE "packs" are tuned, liveried versions of cars otherwise already in the game. If you really wanted, you could buy the normal edition and then buy the VIP pass, and only be missing out on some liveries/tunes, the steelbook, some tokens, and some stickers, but would otherwise have access to all of the cars. The VIP Pass in FM4 also had special rivals events and some other features I don't recall at the moment. IIRC, the VIP Pass in FH had one extra car per DLC pack, too.

@Toko: If FM5 was going to have split qualities (ie "standard" versus "premium") where the "Standard" cars were literally copied and pasted into the game, you might have a valid argument about "carry over cars." But Giese and Greenawalt have said in numerous interviews that all of the content (car visuals, track visuals, audio, etc.) is all being redone from scratch because of the new engine, so it's not like you're paying twice for the exact same content. And even if you were, you're paying to use that content on a new platform in a new game. By your same argument, since GT6 retains every car from GT5, why should the game cost full $60 retail?

I think Toko's just saying how frustrating it is of T10 to keep taking the best and coolest content out of the game to hide it behind a pay wall for useless LE and VIP versions of the game. Like what they do with unicorn cars (I know they're free in-game [after winning them], but you have to pay for Live Gold to even be eligible to receive them).

Incredible, right? Like the free five cars for anybody that buys either version on or near release day. What a money-grab!

The five LE cars are cars available to every player in the game; they're just unique liveries. The five VIP cars are unique to spending the $20 more, yes, but it does come with more than just that... And T10 are hardly the first to reward players for spending extra on a special edition.
