For those long endurance races where you could keep an eye on the race progress while you’re at work.

Would this work for you?

nice idea, i support it

would be great, too see the progress and adapt too any situation while your at work.

Absolutely fantastic idea 👍

Since it would be WEB based feedback... they should be a download for a PSP GT5 game that supports B-spec mode screen. That way it will ease up load times for the online connection .

i was thinking they could use the psp for a turbo timer / ecu management system.

What good would A turbo timer be in GT5????? You dont have to worry about turning your engine off, without letting it wind down first. ????

Unless you mean a boost controler? Then it would make a bit more sence.

I just thought this would be a great feature because the compatibility is already there. And I pretty sure there will be endurance races in GT5, I'm not saying that I want be doing them it just sometimes you need a bit of help.

A little bit like GT4 BSPEC I think it was GT4.

Ya my bad.... I mean't boost controller......

-> This feature would definitely help especially if GT5 will feature day/night/weather changes while you are away from your PS3. You can plan/strategize your B-spec buddy to coordinate your race tactics. :)

I think disconnects would be contingent on your particular network environments for both your remote PSP and host PS3.

Does the PSP connect to the PS3 independant of the PSN? Like, do you need to be signed in to your playstation account for the PSP to have connectivity to the PS3?

I know I can stream music from my NAT box while not signed into the PSN.

The PSP connects to your PS3 through the PSN. The only time it does not is if you are in the same vicinity and using the PS3 as a WiFi connection. But any connection going over the Internet uses your PSN ID to identify the PS3 you are trying to connect to.

Why not have a race director for the team, if you wanted "Hotseat" endurance then could the other driver be the Crew chief and do all the pitting and strategy. Then when you changed driver the driver that was racing will be the crew cheif, and do a minigame :

(I'm running a high fever, 40.5 C, so I hope it makes sense)

With all these mini games, I may as well play Mario Party.

A couple of times, I was letting GT4 run B Spec endurance races whilst watching the F1 a couple of years back, I used an old, tiny portable TV thing (those handheld ones, that never tune into anything).

It worked fine, I could just about read it and see what's happening.

Well then that throws the PSN connection into the mix too and could cause potential troubles...

Hopefully if a feature like this is included it will be seamless to the user.

While the PSN does add one extra thing that can go wrong I very, very rarely have a disconnect issue caused by the PSN itself. In fact, the only time I have had a connection problem due to the PSN was when it was a scheduled.

Personally, I think the PSN will be a non-factor. No, the bigger issue I have found with remote play is that firewalls do not like it and so you have to set your home firewall up correctly and hope whatever connection you are on with your PSP does not have a firewall running.

Wouldnt a web based app work???

but the psp thing is a great idea :)

hope its in the full game or via update :)

Gah... drink your liquids, and I don't mean alcohol! Yikes...

I think having a crew chief with a PSP is an interesting idea - you know, a friend who wouldn't mind helping out while you race, or you serving your B-Spec driver.

A crazy idea I just had is to add in a stripped down PSP to a G25 wheel, in the center panel. Say a PSP 0.1, who's sole purpose was to provide data input to GT5 or other high tech PS3 racer. Like a G35 wheel, selling for $349-399. But like I say, it's a wild idea and I'm not sure this isn't five years early with our current technology.

If they make the PSP a big part of GT5 then their is nothing stopping you converting an old PSP m8.

There are some great ideas here. Does anybody know of any facts of incorporating the two?
