List of current Gr.1/Gr.3/Gr.4 cars and their possible replacements in GT7/8

GT7 should have the "older" Vantage '18 since its listed in the data and this would have been great timing for it but as usual PD doesn't do the obvious things sometimes :/

To add, it's also a legacy brand. Been the main sport luxury brand in the game since day one. A Bilstein livery doesn't cut it.
An up to date Vantage would be nice to at least compliment the updated AMG, Audi and Nissan GT3 cars.

I think PDI works with a limited budget, and with a peculiar management that focuses on other aspects that competing games don't give much importance to, given the low number of modern racing cars.

I don't think this is news to anyone.

Well, taking this into consideration, it is possible to say that, considering that the most recent models of GTE cars, namely Ferrari, BMW and Aston Martin, have become obsolete and destined for museums and, therefore, their licensing value must be Well reduced, these three cars could appear in the near future, before the most current GT3.

I know the GT3 season is pretty much kicking off before GT4, but in the Bathurst 12H there will be four GT4 cars participating. I needs me some new GT4 cars.

Two Gr.4 cars that i am surprised we don't have yet are the Nissan Z GT4 and the Alpine A110 GT4

also few which would be no brainer like AMG GT4 and Audi R8 GT4
I just want a Camaro

I just want a Camaro
yea i get you - i just listed the "easiest" to add which wouldn't require too much work unlike other new cars like that Camaro , Vantage and Artura

although they could use the Camaro ZL1 1LE Package '18 as a base to create that GT4 which visually they are pretty close

Really surprised we haven’t seen this added.

most likely WRC licence is preventing that

pretty nice video about the Super GT cars

only shame that we don't know the state of the Super GT licence and without it i don't think they can add any of those newer cars

I actually sort of like having Gr.B in its current form, being a combination of historic Group B rally cars like the Peugeot 205, modern re-imaginings like the Nissan GT-R, and even some rally cars from outside of Group B like the Toyota Celica or the Pikes Peak-spec Audi Quattro. I think there remains notable potential for expansion based on that info. In fact, here were some ideas I had for other Gr.B additions:

Ferrari 288 GTO Gr.B
Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato Gr.B
Lancia 037
Lancia Delta S4
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III Rally Car ‘95
Porsche 959 Rally Car ‘86
Renault 5 Maxi Turbo
Subaru Impreza Rally Car ‘95

I’d also include the Ford RS200 from the Group B era and the Ford Escort RS Cosworth from the mid-90s, but I think the idea of four Gr.B cars for Ford is a bit silly. That said, I’d probably pick the RS200 if I had to add one.

288 GTO was actually built for Gr.B road racing that didn't take off.
I know, that’s why I picked it - to basically ask, “What if the 288 GTO was an actual dirt/snow Group B rally car?”

EDIT: IIRC, the Alpine A220 was a rally car for tarmac events, as well.

EDIT2: Also, I can't remember who mentioned this, but it would seem that GT300 cars with over 400HP go into Gr.3, with the Subaru BRZ GT300 '21 being a prime example, whereas older GT300 cars that actually have closer to 300HP would likely go into Gr.4. This could still lead to some really cool options for various automakers, even if we limit ourselves to manufacturers that are part of the Manufacturers Series, so here are some older GT300 cars that I could see becoming additional Gr.4 options:

Honda CR-Z '12
Lexus IS350 '08
Mitsubishi FTO '99
Subaru Impreza '08
Toyota MR-S '00

Then there were a combination of newer GT300 cars and older GT500 entires that I could see being new options for Gr.3:

Honda NSX '00
Lamborghini Diablo GT-1 '01
Lexus LC 500h '24
Toyota Prius '21

Finally, I don't think all automakers truly need the latest GT3 cars, but I do think some automakers could definitely use some updated models, namely the BMW M4 GT3, Ford Mustang GT3, Ferrari 296 GT3, Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2, and the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo. Maybe Porsche could use a newer GT3 racer, too, since their current car is a GTE. There's also Aston Martin and their new Vantage GT3. Heck, even Bentley, Maserati, and Cadillac could join in with their GT3 entries, too, especially if that last one also brings us the V-Series.R LMDh that got 3rd at Le Mans.

I do think that some automakers may require new made-for-game Gr.3 cars, with Chevrolet being the most obvious one since Pratt & Miller are supposedly notorious hard to work with, so I think we're likely to get a "Corvette C8 Gr.3" instead of the Corvette GT3.R that races in real life. I also think Hyundai could use more cars in general, like the Elantra N, so maybe that could be the basis for a new Gr.3 car, while Alfa Romeo could get one based on the Giulia.

Unfortunately, some automakers seem to be very much stuck in a limbo of sorts, not only lacking modern race cars, but even their limited road car offerings might make updating things notably harder. I'm referring to Citroen, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Renault, and Volkswagen. I would've included Suzuki, but we did get a Gr.3 version of their VGT, so I think that's good enough. Meanwhile, even though Dodge hasn't done much racing lately, I could see there being a Gr.3 version of the new Charger. But I don't know about Jaguar, either.

EDIT3: I wonder if there's some issues with the licensing of actual GT4 cars? If not, I'd be down to see the McLaren Artura GT4, too, alongside its road-going version. Similarly, Lotus could get the Evora GTE as a Gr.3 car and the Emira GT4 as its Gr.4 entry.

GT-One hype 🔥

It will be also a good base for replica designs of the first Bentley Exp Speed 8 LmGtp. Andre De Cortanze was the designer for both cars and the design of the Bentley was heavily influenced from that of the Toyota. Also, Bentley Exp Speed 8 had a turbocharged 3.6L V8 (Audi of course... the same engine of the R8s), exactly like the Toyota GT-One.

Should make a list of current Gr.1 cars and their possible replacements for GT7/8. ;)
I have a list, but I'm not so sure that all these cars could go in Gr. 1, some of them are very old LMP1s. Maybe with the addition of the Toyota GT-One '99 we'll know hot PD categorize cars of that era.

Also, worth noting that for new LMH PD could opt for their addition with a generic livery, perhaps. For example, a Ferrari 499P with a plain red livery, like already happened with the 458 GT3.

Acura ARX-05/ARX-06 > to be added (I know it's almost impossible, but one can dream)
Alpine A480 > to be added
Alpine A424 > to be added (but same situation of the Acura)
Aston Martin DBR 1-2 (aka Lola-Aston Martin B09/60) > to be added
Audi R8C/R8R '99 > to be added (those cars marked Audi debut in endurance racing)
Audi R8S '00/'01 > to be added (with it began the Audi dominion at Le Mans and in endurance racing in general)
Audi R8S '04 (PlayStation team Oreca) > to be added (too iconic with that livery)
Audi R18 '11 > it should stay (it's the winner of the epic battle vs Peugeot at the 2011 Le Mans 24H)
Audi R18 e-Tron '14 > to be added (to me maybe the best looking version of the R18, very appreciated in Forza Motorspor 6 IIRC)
Audi R18 '16 > it should stay (as of now, it's the latest Audi LMP car; maybe they could add updgrade parts)
Bentley Exp Speed 8 ('01/'02)/Speed 8 ('03) > to be added (those cars marked the "Bentley Boys" return and win at Le Mans)
BMW V12 LMR '99 > to be added (winner of the 1999 Le Mans 24H)
BMW MHybrid V8 > to be added (but same situation already described for Acura)
Cadillac DPI-VR/V-Series.R > to be added (but I think there is a sort of exclusive license with Forza)
Courage C60-Peugeot turbo (team Pescarolo) > to be added
Dallara SP1-Judd (Doran Lista Racing) '02 > to be added (winner of the 2002 Daytona 24H)
Dome S101/S102/S102.5 > to be added. This LMP car is japanese (sometimes 100% japanese, when it raced with Mugen engines), I don't know why PD never thought about it
Ferrari 333SP > to be added (winner of many races around the world and also of the FIA WSC in the early 2000s)
Ferrari 499P > to be added (but same situation already described for Acura and BMW)
Jaguar XJR-9 > it should stay
Jaguar XJR-14 > to be added
Mazda 787B > it should stay (winner of the 1991 Le Mans 24H)
Mazda RT24-P DPI > to be added, underestimated but winning car (winner of two editions of the 6H of the Glen, one Sebring 12H and one Petit Le Mans)
Nissan R92 CP > it should stay
Nissan GT-R Nismo LM > could we please forget this car? please... maybe also Nissan would be happy...
Nissan DPI (aka Ligier-Nissan DPI) > an underestimated but winning car (winner of the 2017 Sebring 12H and of the 2018 Petit Le Mans)
Nissan R390 '98/R391 '99 > to be added (but maybe R390 would go in Gr. 2)
Panoz GTR-1/Spyder (aka Roadster S)/LMP07 > to be added because yes :P (too iconic cars)
Pescarolo C60/C60H > to be added
Peugeot 905 > to be added
Peugeot 908 HDi FAP > maybe to be replaced with the 908 '11 or with the 908 Hybrid4 (that never raced, though)
Peugeot 9X8/9X8 "Evo" > to be added
Porsche 962 > it should stay
Porsche 911 GT1 '98 > to be added (winner of the 1998 Le Mans 24H)
Porsche 919 Hybrid > it should stay
Porsche 963 LMDh > to be added (but same situation already described for Acura, BMW, Cadillac and Ferrari)
Sauber Mercedes C9 > it should stay
Toyota Gr. 1s > they must stay

Also, we definitely need a split between the old Gr. Cs and the other Gr. 1 cars.

Before anyone tells me: yes, I know, none of what I wrote will happen. :(

Pretty good list , i will probably do my own in the focus of Gr.1 how it is /very messy/
Nissan GT-R Nismo LM > could we please forget this car? please... maybe also Nissan would be happy...
i loled at this , well at least Nissan doesn't hide it like they do with the other car but theres legal reason too
