Hi forum

I am currently thinking of writing a race report/feature on a championship/comparsion of cars. I need to know guys the following cars with their oil change bhp (that is their new stock bhp after doing an oil change) with no turbos or power modifications included....and it has to be brand new preferred.

Ok here are the cars bhp after oil changes brand new not driven I require if you can help me out please:

Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car
Nissan R89C Race Car
Bentley Speed 8 Race Car
BMW McLaren F1 GTR 97

The forums I have searched but found no results only show their stock bhp not including oil change and also found a thread with some group c/gtp/lmp cars but all have turbo upgrades.....but if I am wrong then let me know and put a link.

Thanks, look forward to your replies.

What race is this a report for, and are you needing these specs for the AI cars?

I don't think you need to include the Mclaren giving the fact it's one of the lowest of its kind, like the Gillet Vertigo and R390 GT1. I WAS going to include the Toyota 7, but i'm not becasue that car seems to have great RPM and does really well in tracks like Nurbgring, plus it looks original, like a Go-Cart.

If this is not a report on a specific race, but a comparrison of "LMP/Group C Le Mans cars" as mentioned in the thread title, then including the McLaren F1 would not make much sense.

If you want to compare the Le Mans cars in GT4 by class, here is a list of them:

  • 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C2)
  • 1967 Chaparral 2D
  • 1968 Honda S800 RSC

The main difference between GT1 and GT2 is that the GT2 cars have more restrictions and are closer to stock than GT1 cars - this is also why they require higher production rates for GT2 cars than GT1 cars.

GT2 cars must also run stock engine blocks, while GT1 cars can run specially-designed engine blocks as long as the manufacturer meets the ACO's homologation requirements.

Thanks guys and especially to Digital Nitrate....oh by the way...it is for the Gran Turismo World Championship, Im currently writing a race report using a stock used after oil change Toyota GT-One against Group C Le Mans Cars...every race is 200 A-Spec points...and so far out of 10 rounds im half way through and won 5/5 so far....

Anyway thanks for the replies and anyone wants to add on the list with stock and after oil change list of bhp horsepower on Le Mans cars e.g. Group C, CAN/AM, LMPGTP, LMP1/LMP900, LM GT1/GT2...your free to do so and maybe I will make a thread so people can use for race reports and comparisions etc.

You are very welcome, but one word of caution.

The reason I was asking if this is for the AI cars for a race report is that there is strong evidence that the AI cars do not use cars with fresh oil. This is an advantage that we get over the AI.

For instance, if you preview a race it will tell you the HP and tire type for the last car in the line up. Each time you do another preview, the line up changes so you can see the HP and tire types for the other possible AI cars as well.

You'll find that the HP listed for all the cars is not based on a new oil change, or even the HP listed in the garage sorting list. It is the HP rating the car has without new oil and as shown in the actual individual specs in the garage, or the HP shown when you click on the Dyno chart when ever you are in the car's "Parts Chang/Settings" menu.

So for instance, instead of those New Oil HP figures you asked for, for a race report you need the standard dyno chart HP ratings for each of those cars without new oil.

For the ones you asked for earlier, here they are:
  • 927 hp 1989 Sauber Mercedes C 9
  • 909 hp 1989 Nissan R89C
  • 786 hp 2003 Bentley Speed 8
  • 603 hp 1997 BMW McLaren F1 GTR
These are the HP numbers as shown in replays and in race reviews for the AI cars.

Now the reason I say "strong evidence that the AI cars do not use cars with fresh oil" instead of saying it as a matter of fact is that in replays, even if you are using a car with a fresh oil change, GT4 will also lists your car's HP as the one in the dyno chart/specs as if it had no fresh oil change.

In other words, there is no way to know for certain without actually seeing the programming code for the actual AI HP ratings used in actual races. However, considering that if you race using the exact same car, tires, and default settings that the AI uses, in a straight line you'll be a little faster. This is why I strongly suspect that the AI doesn't run cars with fresh oil changes - in order to give the player an edge in HP... although unnecessary. ;)

BTW: For the Gran Turismo World Championship, all the AI cars will be using Racing Medium (RM aka R3) tires. The AI will use different types of tires for different types of races. So when you write race reports, it's a good idea to mention the AI tire type as well as your own.

I have to put down a correction and an addition here. Both the Mercedes CLK-GTR (ie LM) and the Nissan R390 GT1 are GT1 cars, not LMGTP. The class "GTP" first appeared in -´99. And the BMW M3 GTR should fit in nicely in the GT1/GT2 category too.
