So in options, press down and then to wheel settings I think. there you'll find force feedback settings amongst others. In GT Life mode you can find options at the bottom left.

If its actually using the wheel in a race youre not able to do, make sure you set the wheel as controller one i suppose... could you clarify you're exact problem please?

The problem im having is at the top gear test track, in the lotus race the car spins out at the slightest braking. Also if i turn the wheel slightly the car just slide out. Im sure a car like this should be more sure footed than this any reconmendations on how to fix this problem thnks.

You need to brake before you start turning into the corner...watch also when you take your foot off the gas as the back of the car likes to slide.
Practice..practice..practice
Goodluck

Does anyone know how to make the GT button on the DFGT function as a horn? It seems to be impossible to program this button in the configuration menu.

by default it is the horn...i thought it wasn't working too, but then i realized the horns are just very faint. try honking while parked in practice mode or something to see if you can hear it.

I found that flicking the ABS to full solved the sliding problem on that one

i had that, theres nothing wrong with the wheel its just the car and what youre doing with the wheel, as above, try increasing the abs to see if that helps! 👍

Cool ill give that a go, seems abit odd that a new lotus handles so awfull tho dunt it, does the maker have issues with lotus!.

It's on the worst set of tyres in the game lol took me forever to pass it, only managed 2nd though :dunce:

You must have the sixaxis wireless controller assigned to #1 and wheel plugged into #1 port for the wheel to work correctly, you will be able to use the wheel if controller is off but expect random action. This is dealt with better in the Prolog game book, I am surprised that there is no info on using a wheel in what is pure racing game.

Its not the wheel its the car..

Lies.. No matter wether the wheel is set to 2 and controller to 1 or vice versa, as long as the wheel is plugged in it will work.. My controller is set to 1 so i can use during joystick situations like photo mode while the wheel is set to 2 while i race.. And even if the controller is off it has no affect on how the wheel handles...

can one of you guys with a dfgt confirm if you can assign a clutch button on the steering wheel? thanks!

Your joking right.. For what.. The shifter is sequential..

I have also been wondering this. How does the clutch work on a g27 and how would users compare DFGT to one with foot clutch/gated gear shift?

From what I read to engage the clutch on a G27 you hit the top button (triangle) on the shifter at the start of every race..

Yeah this is terrible no matter how you drive it, it's because the tyres are comfort hards...AKA. Linglong ditchfinders. Get it on sport softs and it'll handle like a real lotus. But for this top gear test you have to show your control with crap tyres...which i cant lol

Keep trying. In the end you will get good at handling a car in a slide. Lol. I stayed aggressive in the game just got good coming out of turns sideways and not crashing. But then again I never made gold. Only bronze. I'll go back later and hit gold if it kills me.

I also bought a dvgt today and am trying to race with it, i cannot take a normal corner with it is this normal? do i need to get used to it? or is there something wrong with the wheel( i do think there is something wrong because when i steer back it takes way to long before it reacts i have to rotate the wheel allot and then it reacts by spinning around, it seems 100 times harder then with a controller, when i brake before going into a corner the car is going to brake out and become uncontrolable after that, and when i am steering into an corner when i hold the wheel in the same position the car is going to slide and eventually rotate 360 degrees. i litteraly cannot take two corners and then im spinning around,

I want to set it up with the 300 degrees instead of 900 degrees rotation butt i don't know how to do that, i cannot find it anywhere select+R3 and right paddle doesnt work. In the options menu i can only change FFB from 0 to 10 and set it to amateur professional and simulation.

Can someone please help me its driving me nuts.

I also just got the DFGT Wheel, and I just can't figure out how to get it to work for me.

With the controller I can get silver in the Top Gear Lotus race, but with the wheel, I'm lucky to finish 10th - if I can actually make it past the follow through without loosing control.

I realize that in the top gear/lotus challenge they strap the poor lotus with terrible tyres, so i figured that i'd do a trial by fire.. if i can master this level with the wheel, I'll be able to do well with the rest of the game - but it's at the point where it's no longer fun.. it's just frustrating.

Can anyone recommend some wheel settings? force feedback level etc. that work for them?

I set the FF on my DFGT to 7 and have no problems. I like it much better than the controller. I also haven't ever had to turn the wheel an extreme amount to make a turn either.

My only problem with the DFGT is it makes me wish I would've bought F1 2010 for the PS3 instead of the xbox....

There is no way to change it from 900 degrees.

As far as spinning on every turn I had that problem last night when I set the ABS to 0. Setting it back to 1 solved it. Might want to check your settings.

I use FFB 5 but some have suggested it is better at 7.

The amateur/pro/sim setting doesn't seem to do anything. I heard it is there for older LG wheels only.

That's what I was thinking. As when you select those settings the DFGT is just grayed out, and the old wheels become highlighted.

Sorry for perhaps the obvious...but how/where do you set-up the actually "physical" parameters for the DFGT? When playing GT5 I mean.
I know where to go to set-up/re-assign the different buttons - but where do I adjust the FF, spring strength, how much it rotates vs. what the response in game is, etc

I had it connected before to the PC - and had the Wingman interface program where I could change everything...how would I do it on the PS3?

Thanks

In options on the first wheel to the left. It sets them for all wheels, I guess.

When trying to get used to the wheel, don't use the hardest race you can find. You want to focus all your efforts into learning how to properly use the wheel, not struggling to find grip, finding the best racing line in technical corners or fighting with other cars - you do all that AFTER you've learnt how to use the wheel.
