Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel

My wheel feels weird when turning now. The best way to describe it is it's feels like grit is on the shaft. If I turn trueforce off you can't feel it so it's got to be related to TF. It feels normal when doing daily race qualifying but gritty in lobbies. Anyone else noticed this?

Yep, same for me. True force not working properly but still "on" must be causing the gritty feeling

Same here, but just around center really. Feels like it's some trueforce signal noise.

Yep, saw that thread. We can report to Polyphony but was trying to get as much info as possible to give to them.
Rich,

My experience since the update has only been on daily races. When I do Qualifying the wheel works great. When I go in race truforce is gone...I also feel like it may be more than just truforce since I don't run as much anymore...not sure if it was clipping....but it's almost like there is a gap in feedback before the car loses grip...like if you have to make a snap correction...instead of the feedback gradually reaching the loss of grip....it gets 80-90 there and then there are issues (for lack of a better description, because I'm not sure if it's clipping, truforce etc.

I'm just happy my wheel isnt broken. I was doing gr3 class race B exclusively...which I suspect the biggest issues will be because they made big changes to that class

FFS. Why can't they just let us adjust the FFB and TF ourselves.
Constantly screwing with it.
TF on the Pro has been piss poor since the big physics rework update and now they've properly screwed it.
Spend all this money on a great wheel to play your fave racing game and can't have it feel how you want but instead its constantly made worse and worse.
I wish there was a in ps5 app like they used to have for the headphones with different audio settings and specific mixes for games.

This would be amazing to have the same thing for wheels and I don't know why nobody does it...download exact setups from drivers etc.

Every update this changes and there is never firmware to fix....are they changing how the game communicates to the wheel? It baffles me....I understand tweaking settings but this is like back to 0 everytime

Yeh they're directly fiddling with the way the game talks to the wheel.
What's so frustrating is that we have controls on the wheel itself for us to set how we want it but instead Polyphony are saying "we know better than you know yourselves".
I've gone from being a big defender of the wheel, recommending it to all who ask to kinda believing those people saying they're purposely nerfing it to push people into buying the wheel that they have a sponsorship deal with that, surprise surprise, they DONT keep nerfing.

You know that's such a great point. However, I must say fanatec has superior driver support and Logitech not letting us role back drivers and not more actively updating the drivers is something too. I don't understand why fanatec can update drivers to respond to changes while Logitech just says it's on Polyphony but they will let them know.

If this is due to Polyphony behind the curtain, not working with Logitech like they do fanatec then that's on Polyphony. However there are only two DD drives for PS5.... Which makes this in my opinion inexcusable. If it's supported, support it.

I guess we are all like those shareholders that got screwed by fanatec....

It's definitely polyphony mate. The wheel works beautifully with pc games.
Gt7 gets an update and something goes to **** with the wheel pretty much every single time.
It's been going on for years now.
Dunno who the idiots at polyphony are but they're clueless when it comes to this wheel.

I'm a software developer by trade and if I pushed out software that screwed customers hardware like they do I would've been fired and my company prosecuted!

1. I suspect this may have been done because of the new thrustmaster wheel....I think it is prone to overheating.

With your background may I ask....1. Dont they have separate FFB info going out specific to each wheel.

2. Is something like drive hub or the like worth pursuing

Yes the wheels work differently as far as sending signals to them goes, as far as I know.
Logitech have their own APIs etc.

So fixing an issue with thrustmaster shouldn't affect Logitech.

I've heard good things about drivehub but you are effectively trying to game the system by making the game think the wheel is something else or altering signals to the wheel artificially.
It may work, may continue to, may stop - we shouldn't have to though so should we ?

If this doesn’t get fixed soon, which I doubt it will, and Wednesday (Manufacturers Cup) rolls around then I guess it’s back to the T598 before then- which stinks and completely negates the reasons I purchased the Logi in the first place. I certainly don’t want to put in the time to practice for days, then qualify and then race with the wheel feeling like crap and completely different than it did in prep for the race. It will still feel like crap with the T598, don’t get me wrong, but at least it will be consistent and predictable crap.
This whole thing also makes me feel awesome about my recent PC purchase (9800x3d, 5080) that arrives Monday. For sure the Logi wheel works in Iracing, and the penalty system for punters does too. Thanks to PD for the extra reminder and motivation to stretch my horizons beyond Gt7.

We shouldn't...but what's the solution?

To me when you have a segment that pays more for hardware than the actual console. It's bad business. It's not a GT7 wheel....it's a PS5 version...SONY. Is the community taking the wrong approach, should we be complaining to SONY and not Polyphony?

if it wasn't for VR, i would be long gone from GT.

In my case is VR and the practicality of a plug and play experience that we have with a console.

However, once we invest some thousands on sim racing gear just to have fun and you find yourself prevented of that joy for some nonsensical reasons you start to notice that you cant put all the eggs in one basket.

Is like you are never the owner of the wheel. Is up to PD to decide what your experience will be after each update.
As @scottinwales put it some posts above, let us the players set the wheel preferences and please dont fiddle anymore with that.

Nah, this is all on PD. Just another example of their arrogance taking a big ol’ dump on the average player.
I agree ...but if SONY were to believe this was a serious enough issue for there credibility/image/customers.

I would like to know the percentage of VR use amongst sim racers with a wheel on the old pie chart. My guess is its a strong correlation. We may be niche, but we are great customers.

I don't know...I just tired of this hamster wheel

Incredible timing for this problem to arise. I just bought this wheel this week specifically for Gran Turismo. I guess I don't need to be in a rush to set it up now. 😩

Not to mention the fact that the wheel feels less "lively" since the last major update. For example, the subtle and satisfaying tremor we used to feel when shifting is completely gone. 😪

PD oh PD, you make me so angry ! 🤬

My brother, return it now. If you go back to my post history, this has been happening to me on and off for months now. My return window just closed and I am the idiot that had faith, since I thought I had fixed my issue (by reinstalling the game). Wonderful wheel when it works. As useless as a bungee cord wheel when it doesn't.

The loss of ffb and tf when entering the race is afecting only gr.3.
Daily C at Le Mans feels the same that before the update I believe.

So, nerfing gr3 killed our wheel for that group as it seems.

No GTWS for me on this situation, what a shame

Edit: ok, this is very weird.
1st daily C after update and everything felt smooth as before with gr1.
Went to Monza just to check if they silently fixed the thing and gr3 was still impossible to drive.
Came here to post that is all fine with gr1, and on the following C race the the wheel is numb in this race also.
This is really weird. I can swear I did one race feeling FFB and TF smooth as before

I joined a random lobby in a Gr4 car at Daytona and as I was rolling out of the pits, in the "cutscene", it was fine. As soon as I was given control of the car, no feel whatsoever.
