I bought the great gt steering wheel from logitech a few weeks ago and have found it great, except for today, the brake pedal seems to be sticking on ever so slightly so its going back to the shop tomorrow, anyway because of this i picked my controller up and had a go with that. I was trying to get a gold trophy in b class license, the time trial round the nordwand in the evo 9. Gold is below a 1.15. Round the track with the steering wheel im getting low 1.15's. As soon as i have a go with the controller i get a 1.14.4!!! whats going on, i thought the advantage would be with me when using the wheel, does anyone else have this sort of issue. I would love some opinions and feedback on this as I bought the wheel hoping to be much quicker. I cant really make anymore comparisons as the brake pedal is now shot.

You just need more practice with it. The wheel will be faster than a controller for vast majority of people, myself included.

Is there any way you can reduce the lock of the steering wheel. 900 degrees is far too much especially when your using the likes of the f1 car. The steering rack just needs to be tighter and quicker i feel. In NFS shift there is the optin to reduce lock to lock but I cant seem to find any option for this on gt5p?

I found with my GT wheel that I had the same problem. Brake sticking on slightly. Its done it about 3 times since I had them 3 months ago.

I solved the problem by unplugging the pedals from the wheel for just a second while playing, then reconnecting them.

Hope it works for you.

Try reconnecting the pedals. If this doesn't work, you got one of the infamous crap pedal units and you should return it for a new one.

It takes much more than a day of wheel use for it to overtake your years of controller experience. It can be worth the effort if you want it to be.

I played racing games (and other types too) with a controller for over a decade. I've had a wheel since December. The first few sessions were fun but mostly futile, but now if I go back to a controller it feels like a lesser experience and I don't get lap times as good. Equally as important as the wheel itself is the degree of control you can easily have over the throttle and brakes. It's personal preference, largely, but I do think the wheel has a true objective advantage as an input device for GT games and other race sims. Arcade racers? Yeah, not so much.

Edit: I hope you reconsider and end up with a set up with good pedals because the wheel you've got is a very good / fun unit.
