I don't like when people change their names and I can't figure out who they used to be. It get's annoying and I wish they would let us know in their sig or something.
WHO WAS DANNY G?
That's one I can't figure out, as well as even being able to tell if people changed at all. Was Event always Event? I can't remember...

I think he was Ultrabeat...

I wanted to have my name changed to Unfashionable Objector in a Uniform Fetish but it seems the long-name-trend has stopped at its first member.

DannyG was ultrabeat.

Event was Event Horizon.

OH, I get it. My handle is still : HolyGrenadeFrenzy regardless and I will use H.GrenadeFrenzy unless I am letter reduced to HGFenzy or even HGF,get it but I still feel a little sad about the shortening of it even if there are reasons of practicallity involves because of others wanton abuse gumming up forums....so sad...But like I should be surprised!

There's an idea for a new premium feature. In addition to being able to change your username, the added ability to have a slightly longer username (within reason - say 20 characters). I see no problem with the name HolyGrenadeFrenzy - It's only one extra letter, and if he was to pay for premium I think he should be entitled to that.

It would stretch out the formatting in the forum, and then everything would look botched.

Looking at your example it would take just 15 characters to botch the formatting - yet the name H.GrenadeFrenzy, also at 15 characters does not.

Don't forget, Premium usernames are bold, adding extra width.

And as Verdana (or whatever is used) isn't a fixed-width font (like Courier New), different characters take up different amounts of space.

 I'm gonna name him Phil. Phil the Phixer. :D I think that would be a rediculously stupid idea for a premo feature, IMO.

Personally, it's all good with me, as it fits perfectly on my 1280x1024 screen res, I would vote no on Prop 2016

It's fine for me too, Duncs name just gets put on seperate lines rather than stretching across the page.

It's not a big deal, and nothing to get bent out of shape about. Besides, Rameses Niblick III Kerplunk Kerplunk Whoops Where's My Thribble
(Previously Gilbert) said it's only temporary.
Yeah, that username is temporary allright!

Well that was worth bumping the thread for, wasn't it...
That was supposed to be a joke, sort of like with the "GTMobile Delayed until 2006" Then some guy posted "Yeah, it's delayed to 2006 alright..." People laughed at that joke but not this one? :odd:

Would've been funny if John posted it though right?

EDIT: As long as a thread is open, it is still open for discussion. This is just me using the seach tool rather than making a new thread. :sly:

Yeah, but what you posted just wasn't funny. It looked more to me like an opinion you just couldn't hold in... and those can wait. Maybe it's just me.

Probably not.

You made a thread a few weeks ago expressing the opinion that you thought thread revival was wrong, didn't you? Then Daan posted this. Just doesn't make any sense to me that you did this despite the thread and numerous replies echoing the same message. Sorry if I killed your joke there, but to me this just looks like a pointless reply.

Joke or not, that name does cause the "last post" column to get pushed pretty far over into the previous column.

It's cool, no offense taken. Times changed though, as I learned that bringing up threads is better than starting a new one from that old thread. I see I should be more careful to what threads I bring up next time though. 👍 Better to search, and elaborate, than to create, and aggravate.

Actually, I don't fault CNG for reviving the thread at all. The premise was the name was supposed to be temporary, and half a year later he's pointing out that it looks like it wasn't so temporary after all.

Well considering that many users have had their name the same for considerably longer than 6 months, I believe it still does qualify as temporary ;)
