f50, you don't know much about cars, do you? Disregarding all the others mentioned, the Corvette beats it by 14 years. Neither car ever went out of production.

Actually, I believe it is the Morgan 4/4, not the +8, that is the longest in production. It was first built in 1936 and is still built today (albeit by hand and to the tune of less than 10 a year).

Note that the Morgans dunk over the Suburban et al in terms of actual 'age', because an '03 Suburban has nothing in common with a '29 version besides 4 wheels and an FR layout. The Morgans, on the other hand, are still largely as designed in the 1930s.

There was a small Fiat that was introduced in the early 50s (I forget the model) and had a virtually unchanged of 25 years or so. When it was discontinued, Fiat sold the tooling to a manufacturer in India, who put it back into production. As of the early 90s, I believe, it was still possible to buy a brand new 1954 Fiat.

The Morgan Aero 8 is the first car from Morgan not to have a wooden frame...as the 4/4 and Plus8 still do. :)

Word has it that the original Beetle is still being produced for South America (LHD, too!), so you should be able to "import" one, rear engine and all. It's also quite cheap....

That's true. I don't remember the production run of the Beetle, but when they closed it down, VW sold the Super Bug tooling to an outfit in Mexico. They made a version called, I believe, The Sun Bug or the Sun Beetle.

I'm sure it has migrated farther south since then.

The first VW rolled off the assembly line in 1948.
The Vette has never skipped any years since it came to be in 1953.
The Camaro has also never skipped any years. The Z-28 has been stopped once, but I can't remember which years, but it has been recently.
The Morgan 4/4 wins thus far. It is largely unchanged since it's inception.
f50: The Ford Mustang has been around longer than the Camaro. I hope that you are just pulling our collective leg in insisting that the Camaro has been in production the longest.

with that kind of intro i don't have to talk with you.

Actually, neon_duke is right-on. He may have mentioned it a little arrogantly, but next time do a little research before posting, please!! :)

What about the Mini Cooper? Or the Volkswagon Beetle? Or even something like a Ferrari or a Porche? Those guys have been making cars forever. I think the Suburban or Silverado maybe, or even maybe the Ford or Dodge pickups.

I diagree,
The Volkswagen (Beetle) is the longest production car ever made. Since its first intro on the WWII stages until now in Mexico as an VW Sedan, which the body style hasn't changed much in decades.

-Mini came out on the 1950's
-Jeep came out on the WW II era, but it was maned Willys/Jeep, not Jeep Wrangler.
-Morgan plus eight is also considerable as a TLPC.
-Oh for pete sakes about the Camaro, the Mustang and the Vette came out before the Cam.
-one of the longest USDM vehicles in production are the Jeep Cherokee and the Chevy Astro/GMC Safari.

Why is this still being discussed? The question was answered ages ago. Morgan...4/4...1936...still uses original wooden frame. Don't you people read the whole thread before posting? :P ;)
