Looking to tune a Wagon, or another sleeper

Basically, we all know how fast the Spec C is....I was just curious about making a wagon, or any other subaru for that matter, even CLOSE to being as fast as the Spec C.

It's already pretty amusing to race my friends, my spec C vs their F1 on the test track. They have an amusing look on their face as I keep 2-3 cars on them all the way up to 250mph.

But I figured it would be all the more fun if I had a stationwagon OR any other kind of sleeper that was as fast as the Spec C.

Any ideas?

The Nissan Stagea 260RS (or something like that, the top version) is a good bet, it packs the same engine and drivetrain as the Skyline GT-R's. It's big, it's clumsy and it can go like a lightning. :)

Agreed, it's a successful combination of big size and sporty looks. I haven't tuned it myself but I have a feeling that it might be just the car for your needs.

Subaru makes the wagon you want. The Stega is good also, but I prefer the Subaru. The Impreza sports Wagon handles good, accelerates quick, knocks out a pretty good 1/4th, has great top end and IMO, looks much better than a Stega.

...also guys, if I read right, I believe he said "any Subaru", the Stega is made by Nissan.

go with the Subaru Legacy Wagon, sorry Cheezman, but the legacy in my mind is a better car to butcher with a supercharged, turbocharged engine that the impreza wagon.
BTW, the Stegea is good too

the impreza wagon maxes out @ 502HP in my setup, and i must say if you don't know you're driving a wagon, you woudln't notice!! stunning car..... 👍

Audi RS6.

It's not at all surprising that you can keep up with an F1 car above 150mph or so. F1 cars create a lot of drag, so their acceleration is poor at those kind of speeds, plus the slipstream from them is good.

I'm actually thinking of building up my yellow Volvo 240 hearse for the El Capitan enduro. Don't ask me why.

im going to make a worlds fastest wagon championship,, ,, so you full tune a wagon, N3 tires. record time of a lap at the ring., must be a clean lap tho,, as if it was a driving test.. 2 wheels etc post times

Read it again, chumpo. :

I put another vote it for the Stagea, that thing is amazing.

I still haven't driven one, but from the extreme ravings on the subject by a friend of mine I believe the Stagea 260RS will give you all you could want ;)

(And the Honda Odyssey which is impossible to spell is not a 'wagon/estate car' in my opinion, it is a people carrier/MPV)

You replied to my post from July 31 2006 to say that? So, who is the chump? 👍 Also, read his first line: "I was just curious about making a wagon, or any other subaru for that matter, even CLOSE to being as fast as the Spec C."

On to the topic. Myself and Mouser1286 (a member here) raced a Stega against my STi Wagon, the STi Wagon had it through every race. It is smaller, lighter, and a much easier driving car. It also seemed to have a much better top end. We did many comparisons with the cars, and the STi wagon just was the better of the two... but, in a long term race, it wouldn't matter, both are great cars in their own, and it really comes down to you (the driver).

But, I stand behind my suggestion, go with an STi wagon, it simply felt better. 👍

Autech Stagea 260RS get's one vote more. it's seriously fun car to drive around any track, and it has 556bhp when fully modded. it can keep up with supercars like Ford GT and Pagani Zonda, and then, if you know how to set it up, drifts like absolute animal. true, it's heavy when compared to Subie's Imp-wagon, but atleast it looks like wagon instead of 4 door hatch. and Stagea is better to drive, since it has same engine and drivetrain as R33 GT-R, meaning that it has rear biased AWD and all wheel steering etc.

edit: DE, did I see right or did you kind of mention my raving about this wagon? :sly:

i and D.E. know your liking for this wagon Leo, so it's no wonder, that D.E. mentioned your raving about this car. i also would go for the Autech, but the '00 Impreza Sportwagon isn't bad either!

are you talking of the new one? it's not good at all. it suffers from a turbo that has impotency.. (boosts only at low rpm, then stops working.)

I have had excellent experieces with the Audi RS4 Avant and the Autech Stagea.👍 Both are well balaced and very fast in a straight out of corners (Audi requires more work to suspension tuning:ouch: ). For a more nimble ride I would have to vote for a mid-90's Subaru WRX wagon.
