I still LOVE the tune Battleflag by Lo-Fidelity All-Stars

Don't worry, it's the censored version :D

Such a great song...On the Floor at the Boutique and How to Operate' are two of my faves from them. šŸ‘

So, people can't drive in Gran Turismo Sport. Don't get me wrong, I have my moments a plenty, I'm talking about the malicious boneheads and clueless ones. The first group are a loss, gonna get that disappointment out the way now. The second group stands a chance. Marinated on that for a minute...

Why can't they introduce a 'Sport license with ALL the penalties turned on and cranked to 11? Won't inhibit regular offline play and might wake-up some of those just joining the track for the first time.

Not lookin' to beat dead animals with sticks and all so feel free to tell me to shut-up, lol.šŸ˜

EDIT
@newmedia_dev congrats on the win! Been having a blast in A myself with (mostly) clean drivers. Good stuff!

Back with some time for a few quick races over the weekend. First time online in months. Fortunately my 10 year old did all the updates for me prior.

Forgot how much fun it was, I really enjoy Redbull Ring. It was a really good rust buster.

3 races, qualified, 9th, 8th and 8th, managed to gain 4 spots in all 3.

I think I've figured it out...I'm a casual racer so casual races seem to be a good fit, lol. I hope they keep churnin' out the Race A goodness, been a good couple of weeks.šŸ‘

Added a new friend this weekend and had tons of great racing. This is the stuff we come here for:

This is tremendous racing and very sporting from the porn star to concede that he nudged you wide. It's very good viewing as clearly you are driving at 10 tenths, on the absolute ragged edge and a good lesson for new drivers that once you started over driving and missing apexes you were slower.

Thank you!

Been having a blast in these A races. The goal is different so the adrenaline is different. I don't go into these with a win in mind, which is refreshing. Some of the best fun I've had has been dropping back...but then you get into these heated battles and the smiles are abound. Had some great, great company on track all weekend, too.

Fingers crossed for this weeks endeavors. Good luck out there!

Great Mellofello! You know, back in November and December 2022; when I initially started the Sport mode when I got Level 9, I felt like more of a casual and normal driver too. I always felt more comfortable doing the A and B races because it included more friendly lobbies. It seemed like the C races had more lobbies where people were doing dirty things. Well you all know what devious tricks they pulled out there. I would have never progressed in gt7 if I didn't find GTplanet and this specific thread. I had to put the work in and do random searches for racing forums/websites.

So I wonder what tracks and car combos will be revealed this week? Possibly the A race being a one-make event for the IONI-Q car? I'm just guessing that though.

Took me all of GT Sport and at least the first two years of GT7 to realise that it was my short fuse that was stopping me becoming an A rated driver and staying in A after I got there. I was in and out of A like a yo-yo for while :D
Going exaclty down that path...
Demoted back to DR B after 9 days (only) of DR A..., I was rammed out so many times while 1st that I start to think I was on candid camera. Unfortunately, when you get trown to 16th at 1st or 2nd lap, raising back to the front is almost impossible while in DR B I was still able to get back to podium or even win. The only good side of the story is that when racing was clean, I could "easely" keep up without sweating too much. Courious to see how long my yo-yo story will last.

A mix of cars so far for Race C QT. I think I will spend the week here šŸ‘Œ The GTR drives beautifully around here

I will take that on a Monday morning šŸ‘ŒšŸ† Handy enough race to be honest. It won't be that easy for too long though šŸ¤£I

I am consistent anyway...2nd win and look at the total race times for both šŸ˜€ šŸ˜„ šŸ˜‰

I'm sure that will be a fun race but the car is so frustrating, you have to shift up ridiculously early to get any kind of pace out of it. If only they had given us a fine Mitsubishi instead of the homebrand blue version šŸ˜‰
I tried 2 races and it was more like Wreckfest so I bailed out šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Shifting up early might be a little frustrating, but it's not enough to justify trying to kill the flag marshall is it!

Yes MaxPower, thanks for your ghost, just chased you for a couple of laps, not tried a race yet but if i can get under 8 seconds that will hopefully give me a pole start, the rest is up to me to get the first few bends spot on to create a gap and push on.

Defo think ive got a sub 8 second lap in me, not tried any other races yet (need to do some work now :() but at least if im not enjoying B or C, ive defo got A to fall back on again.

Whatā€™s going on PD, 3 awesome daily A races on the trot, who ever is picking the daily race Aā€™s at PD recently, you got a big thumbs up from me šŸ‘

Good luck in all your races this week peeps

Did a couple of race C this morning. 1st race in the 155, Q12 and finished 9th thanks to some road rage argey bargey in front. 2nd race in the GTR Q2 and finished 2nd - the Italian in front was in the 4c and finished 5 seconds ahead. I don't think it was down to his car choice, just a better driver than me.

I will probably spend most, perhaps all my time at WG. I enjoyed this track a lot in the Civic recently and 10 laps feels like a good distance for some back and forth racing. Not sure I'm brave enough to take on the Ring, as I've still not learnt it šŸ˜Ø

Happy racing!

Doing the circuit experience helped me immensely to learn the ring, i found it difficult to learn whilst just lapping it, didnt seem to sink in, as soon as I came out a bend i was too busy thinking of the next one.

Breaking it down to a small section at a time, defo made me remember it much better, once youā€™ve done that, its an extremely rewarding experience.

Good Luck šŸ‘

Race B gr3 at DG seaside, thatā€™ll do me nicely for the week, thatā€™ll be tense flying through the chicane not knowing if you will live or die šŸ˜‚ 4/5 times a race.

Hoping itā€™s not 3 laps but chuffed itā€™s on medium

Nothing better than being under pressure from behind all the way to the chicane of death, then bossing it thru it and watching the car behind not bossing the chicane of death and having an urgent meeting with Mr Barrier :D

Obviously the other way around does happen too, but is much rarer as you can actually see whatā€™s going on, I donā€™t like being too close to the car in front going thru there.

5 lapper for B.

Yeah, B certainly was challenging at times this week at RBR. I had one race where I felt that it was 100% chaos 100% of the time. Afterwards I realized that I was in SR A - I had not noticed I had dropped before the race.
The most infuriating however, was to be in a race (DR mid B SR S) with a well-known driver. Last lap I come out of T1 much better than him and another guy, and I am headed for P3. But passing him on the straight he takes me out off course. I swear I will take him out next time I see him with absolutely no regards to my own rating. And I will applaud any of You for similar action. (Apparently he has a "team" now: He was driving together with another driver in identical pink cars. I will hit them both for good measure.)

What rpm is the upshift point?

And I couldn't agree more: Evo > STi

:D

Itā€™s the unfortunate aspect of an otherwise legendary game. I donā€™t know if they can fix the penalty system but they need to try.

He is clearly standing right in my way! I can''t believe he would do such a thing on an active race course! šŸ¤Æ

Thanks šŸ» I'm going to give it another go later because it feels like there is more time on the table, I'm sure this is one of those where once it clicks you'll suddenly find loads of time and the same people will race it all week.

You defo have more on the table, i just did another lap and got just under 8 mins woop, iā€™ll spend this week chasing you down again :D

Iā€™ve been changing up a gear at 7k revs, seems pretty effective, those boxer engines have some serious grunt low down

No prizes for guessing this weeks most popular livery, the legend lives on

They can. They had it MUCH better in the first year of GTSport where it was the most severe and the most unforgiving. Everything above slight contact was penalized, regardless of who was to blame. The cleanest drivers where also the most successful.

Unfortunately, real racing isn't like that. In real racing, there is contact and aggression.

NOW,

Personally, I think they have gone too far in the other direction. SR get's penalized while there is no in-race penalty and I disagree with that. It's either a nonissue, or it's an issue. If it's an issue and I lose SR, I should get a time penalty as well. In this way I KNOW that I have committed a foul. Racers should not benefit with wins or better finishing positions while also driving without care, or as happens, knowingly committing penalties that go unpunished.
