This specific Lotus 19 was driven by Dan Gurney to win the first 3-hours of Daytona (which later became the 24 Hours of Daytona). Dan Gurney famous won the 3-hours of Daytona by coasting the car across the line after the car ran out of fuel on the last lap. His sizable lead let him limp back to the starting line to win the inaugural Daytona endurance race.
