Okay, just to elaborate a little bit.
Unlike the vast majority of series here, there are not set "spots" or "slots" or whatever you want to call them, for drivers. There is no limit to the amount of people who can register.
Anyone can come in on any week they want, and attempt to qualify. In the event that we have more than 16 try to qualify, then the guy with the slowest time(s) are the ones left out.
People with championship points, however, will have priority, though. If you're a Nascar fan, you'll know the term "provisional." Say Diver A had points, and qualifies 17th. Driver B has no points, and qualifies 5th. Driver C, also with no points, qualifies 13th.
Driver C would be the one bumped from the grid, on account of not having any previous points, and qualifying the slowest of that group.
I really wouldn't worry about it, though, as we only had to do this once for the Integra series.
