Shelby 427 Cobra with a tuned suspension and S3 tires on any track (the essence of domination)
This car doesn't need any engine mods or weight reduction. On shorter tracks it's almost untouchable by anything. The speedo spins like a race car, it has tons of grip for holding on in the corners, and great brakes. The slight tendency to understeer is cured through suspension tuning (I like to use 1/2 for my sway bar settings, and go as softly sprung as I can get away with), and driving technique. It is the very embodiment of "slow in, fast out".
Around Laguna, it has crushed just about everything I have, managing a 1:31 (or thereabouts) lap time on S3 tires. There are only 2 cars I have that are faster, they only managed 1:30 times, and one of them is the Ford GT40 race car. (I forget what the other is right now)
As it stands, the 4 speed is perfect for that track, and all short tracks, but, a 5 or 6 speed would really help it. And with slicks, it could take more power (even just an exhaust or port/polish). And with more power and more grip... that's modern race car levels.
It also has a great sound for replays.
C1 Corvette with Supercharger and Exhaust (278hp), stock semi-race or nearly stock race (lightend stabilizers) suspension on the 'ring.
Using N3 tires with a default semi-race suspension, and a sports tuned exhaust (about 270hp), I ran an 8:22 around the 'ring and completely wasted the competition in the 1000 Miles! race.
It has lots of grip, and really hangs on in a turn. Once going, you don't have to worry about blowing the back tires off. You can brake fairly late. And when the rear lets go in a corner, it's extremely balanced and controllable. Seems it would actually make for a good drift car.
If we had a '55, and weren't so limited in the area of boost and whatnot, I could see this as the GM Cobra. lol
And Polyphony didn't screw us on this like they did with the C2, we can actually change the wheels!
That little thing is just amazing. So much so that it makes me think it's been overmodeled (like the Kappa Coupe Concept ("Solstice")).
C5R at Tokyo, nothing better than taking an American car there and beating the piss out of the entire field.
Worked '00 (LS1) "F-Body" at the 'ring.
Even though it's the wrong skin (the uglier, somewhat more econo version, instead of the Pontiac), it's still the right chassis and drive train. Show them Euro's just how "poorly" American cars handle with low 7:30 lap times. (beating my worked DB9 (which I love) by far lol)
Heavily worked Lancia Stratos (max power, stage 1 WR, tuned race suspension) at Laguna Seca.
This car wants to go sideways. It has an insane P:W ratio, and is easy to control sideways when tuned right. Fun, but a handful, fast as hell, and awesome to watch in replays.
Proto Motors Spirra
Maybe not "magic" on the same level, but, a supercar outta nowhere! lol I tried it on a lark and was really surprised at it. Good power, balance, handling... good everything. With work, I'm sure it would be flat out amazing. Looks decent too.
