my dude JPM got the pole. and Irvine made it inside the top 10, qualifing 9th. [understatement] i know jag is having lots of problems [/understatement], but i still pull for 'em.

Fisichella had a monumental accident in Sat morning practice, and Dr Sid Watkins suggested he have the rest of the weekend off. Although uninjured, he did cop two hits on his helmet.

Again no Arrows. That's the second time in a row. How long will Tom Walkinshaw wait untill he sells it to Red Bull?

My guess is "Until Morgan Grenfell stop blocking the sale"

Indeed - I am astounded about that talk of Frentzen starting in the Jordan- does HHF have a penalty clause in his contract or something if races are missed? As if HHF would go back to Jordan after being so comprehensively screwed...

What the **** happened to Barrichello this time!?

If I were him I would go seriously Osama on Jean Todt's ass!!

Well, here's the thing (and my dislike of Michael is well documented in these forums).

You'll note that there is a white line around the outside of the Adelaide hairpin. Since the run off there is tarmac, this white line actually defines the outside of the race track (same as the pitlane exit). As such, Kimi actually went off the circuit on McNish's oil.

As such, Michael is entitled to overtake him under yellow flags.

Now, in terms of the incident on the way out of the corner, cars returning to the circuit after going off MUST give way to cars on the circuit. Accordingly, Michael actually had right of way - he played it hard, but he's entitled to drive where ever he wants on the circuit, and Kimi needs to wait for him to either make room or pass.

Still, it's not like Michael was attempting to shunt Raikkonen to win, or won from the pit lane, or drove for a team that made two serious technical infringements during the season....

Were the yellow flags out when Kimi came around the hairpin and went off course?

Yes. However, when Raikkonen left the circuit, the marshals would have been waving yellow flags for him, thus entitling MS to pass.
