Maintenance notice

The fact that I cannot even win a race anymore without being called a hacker is proof that it did the precise opposite of that

Just because you and some other nerds got your jollies off screwing with the game, does not mean it was improved for the majority of us. So stop acting like it was

I'm going to sound like a complete a-hole, but me (and probably a lot of other people) will do what makes us enjoy the game more (since we too purchased it). I really couldn't care less if it upsets other people when I'm in a free run room (hacks should stay there IMO, not crazy ones, they belong nowhere) doing what I want to do with MY (key word) game. So yeah, maybe someone, somewhere, is getting their panties in a bunch over me, but if I'm having fun I'm going to continue having fun. :)

Some people get so butthurt over the hybriding (still, for some reason). Not only just butthurt, but some seem to actively hate it. Chances are, they're the people who never did it themselves and only ever saw the 32,000bhp X1's and not the Premium Subaru 'Hatchback' with the engine swap with the EXACT power but with the 22b engine so it sounded like a Subaru, or that in 6th place in the race he so proudly won was someone driving an R34 with an engine swap purely for the noise.

Those are the hacks which for some people made the game enjoyable again. The realistic ones were often done by people with more maturity than "hurr gotta go fast 999mph". Hybridding was a mixed bag and for the most part was detrimental but you can't ignore the fact that it mixed the game up and added some customisation aspects (removing a wing, lowering the car more, painting them in fancy colours or making it sound better).

The thing that gets me is that towards the end of the life-cycle of the hybrid's, I began to do them myself. Fortunately, I stuck only with a group of friends so I wasn't terrorising race lobbies and for us - people who appreciated the aesthetics of cars and the sounds: it made the game more interesting. We all updated to 2.12 because the ability to drive with friends means more to us than de-winding an Evo or lowering a Buick. However, in 2.12 all you have to do is change a value in a computer programme and your Audi R8 can have 28,000bhp. You add an LSD and an ECU to that, and it has anywhere from 1,000bhp to 2,000bhp. Drivable and can dominate an online race. If PD had patched the game properly (which is what I hope this maintenance is all about) then hacking would have completely died down, away from our eyes.

Or maybe its just maintainance & wont bring anything new to the game. Just like many other maintainance periods during GT5's lifetime. I dont get why so many people are expecting anything to come with it.

Did they start this early? I cannot connect to any online functions

I very much doubt they're going to make changes to GT5 when they're so involved with brushing up GT6 for release.

As with most of the other maintenance periods, nothing will change.

To the big goody-2-shoes up there as a matter of fact I know a lot of people that came back when they heard it was possible to lower your ride height further, remove wings, modify wheel offset, do real-life inspired engine swaps and basically do full replicas of REAL TUNER CARS.

But I guess you're one of those people that doesn't like modified cars.

Yes, the kids with 10000+ hp ruined it, but don't categorise us genuine car enthuasiasts with those tools.

In my ideal world, PD would've done something as simple as putting a universal hp cap at something like 2000- 2500 hp for all cars. It'd still be high, but realistic. ( there's drag cars out there with that type of power.

Most likely, they wouldn't put that in in this maintenance, but I can hope.

Might be nothing to do with GT5 at all... could it be "GT6 Demo" related, two weeks before the 2nd July release?

Not true.

I hope it's something of a last hurrah for GT5 and it's simply a update on their end allowing online play to be indefinite even after GT6 is released(much like COD still has Black Ops servers even after MW3 and BL OPS 2)

My god yall are still arguing/dissapointed about hybrids:boggled:
This has happened to most of the GT games, most of the GTA series and practically every other game out there.
People know how to make them and people know how to brake them(if you get what I'm saying)
Its a phase that EVERY game goes through. I'm sure people are trying/have hacked Forza by now, you dont hear them crying about it. They already have options in the game many of us have been begging for forever.

Now someone figured it out and everyone is all butthurt cause they, a) cant figure it out, b)are still afraid of PD, c) are purists ,d) people who cant accept change e)want to sit there for a hour and a half driving around SSRX to brake in a car, when you can do two clicks and you have a OCD version that just needs a oil change, f) want me to keep going?
Add your parts, paint your unpaintable cars, sawp your engines, drop your cars, and use you HP, PP and weight restrictions to keep out those ridiculous cars.

Its time to be free and accept the fate of GT5, it will never go back, it took less than 24hrs to fix what had been done by 2.12 and all the old programs still work so, they didnt do much did they? What makes you think it will be any different?
(removed unnecessary comment)

How bout this, what if PD actually unlocks everything?
:boggled:

First of all, you don't understand the real world repercussions that the hybriding/hacking brought with it. Secondly, there is a better way to get your point across. I got it, but it didn't give a good impression. I suppose that wasn't your point of posting all of that.

I'll edit that, it did come across a little rude now that I look back sorry, but I was a little heated by everyone still complaining.
As far as real world repercussions how? We all paid for the game right? Be it New or Used.

Yep

This isn't my video by the way. Just posting it to show that people hacked forza too.

👍 It happens.

License issues with car manufacturers. An example I use is that we can use a Viper on snow/dirt, but most of the Mercedes cars we can't.

I dont think Mercedes, knows about Salt Flats and stuff:sly:
Cool video p3.

The nerd rage on here cracks me up. I thought everyone was over what other people do offline by now. you guys are a good people watch.

You know what would be great for a game update is if they ever took that rediculass $20,000,000 cap off

Nerd rage? I'm far from it, I just downloaded a program and happen to be smart enough to click a few buttons that have instructions.
And they are some fun parts, and they are online, plus crazy HP cars:sly:

PS: I'm sitting on a billion dollars!!!

woopy, hooray for Gameshark. If your able to change your cash cap like that, why can't we add our own content then?

what are you suppose to do with a billion dollars anyway, I only want the money cap raised is so I don't have to stop what ever I'm doing to figure out how I'm going to spend a few million so im not racing for free. A Fiat 500 blowing the doors off of a Sauber C9? halarious, for like 2 seconds, then its pointless. I'll trade all that for an old VW bug with porsche wheels and drivetrain any day.

2.10 was the first attempt to change things up

2.11 was released to fix that

2.12 was released to fix the modding that actually changed things up

2.13...?

Three patches that were a waste of time. 2.12 should have stayed in the cooker longer and released what people actually wanted. Fix the monster powered cars and expand the adjustment/tuning of the current cars (which is really all that the modders wanted).

Hopefully, 2.13 will be worthwhile. For now, I'm still on 2.11.

Anddd it begins. I was in a lobby too haha. If they patch the rest of hacking, I hope paints stays. I mean they can't just remove those codes from the game, can they?

That, and the extra tuning should be usable no matter what. Not sure if that's right though.

Anyone else have the update notification when they open the game? I'm sitting at it, I'm scared of what it may do :x
