Mixer Makeshift Shuffle Time Trial Testing

mmshuff006.jpg

This is where we time trial, test drive cars, and discuss the cars and car lists used in:

Makeshift Shuffle Club
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/mixer-makeshift-shuffle-see-post-2-for-schedule.293390/
Community CLUB ID # 1026878

Additional Time Trials:
Community CLUB ID # 1031500

The Cars (or whole car lists) being tested at any given time are found in post #2 and/or post #3 of this thread.

OPTION 1:
Run the cars up for testing & time trials in one of the Time Trials in the club's community events, open to the cars being tested.
Then copy & paste your times here from the time trials results pages. (Or at least inform us when you have all your times done in the time trial and they're posted.)

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR CAR MAY REGISTER INCORRECTLY IN THE TIME TRIAL RESULTS IF YOU RUN MORE THAN ONE TIME TRIAL IN THE SAME LOBBY.
To prevent this from happening, always enter the track, then exit the track (cancel entry) and re-enter the track again, before running the time trial again in a different car.

OPTION 2:
Run the cars on the track of your choice with the settings limited to what's specified in the Makeshift Shuffle Club OP (post #1), with the appropriate tires specified for the list you're running.

Looking for a variety of drivers to test cars, so don't worry if you're not the fastest hot lapper on GTP or not.
My real interest is seeing how the cars perform against each other! 💡

If you would like to be involved in testing, but would rather remain anonymous for whatever reason, send me your times in a private "conversation" here on the forum, and your times will be listed & tracked under an anonymous generic driver designation.

Rules:
Tuning prohibited (only oil change - standard rims)

No aids other than ABS (your choice on or off) and Driving Line (your choice)
Standard (tuning prohibited), stock car, on the specified tires only. No upgrades.
Tire wear ON very fast, grip real.
You are allowed to do offline times... but you should specify that, and if you do one offline - do them all offline, and all cars with same track settings.

Guidelines:
Keep with a similar limit (like number of laps or time period) for each car in the list. In other words, don't spend 45 minutes on 1 car, and then only 10 on another.
If the track is a rain or time change track, do all the cars at the same time of day, with time progression @ 1, and the weather at "fixed". (So you're not doing one with the sun in your eyes, or another one with the track at a different level of wetness.)

Report times down to the fractions, please. (Helpful when I put it into my list to sort.)
format example:

If you can test cars... You can just test the groupings (which are what most need testing right now), or you can test an entire car list on one track.

Will do this later first track Eiger Nordwand :)

Edit maybe Deep Forest instead for you to compare.
👍 👍

I'm going to do them both too. And depending on how they turn out I'm going to pick a 3rd track.
What I mean is once I see how they compare between Eiger & DF, I'll decide if I want to try a twistier track, or a long straights track.

I'm also going to post soon another list. But I want to narrow down the list first. May be Monday before I get to that.

Yeah best to have a good combination of tracks like Monza/Madrid etc, :)

Yes but, we'll save those tracks for the faster car lists. :sly: I just can't bear to drive these low power cars by my lonesome on Monza or Madrid. zzzzzzz ;)

That said, the Autozam & Karmann Ghia can give you some surprises! weeeeee :)

At Eiger Nordwand Short Track

Fiat Panda 1:40.310
Merc A1 1:29.555
Ka 1:37.122
Volvo 1:37.866
Mini 1:34.603

Autozam 1:32.948
Audi 1:31.409

S800'66 1:31.865

Still have more to test...

Online Lobby i have very high broadband mics was off just to be sure no lag.
Tyre Wear Very Fast, Grip Real, Oil Change, Everything prohibited (aids) apart from abs which i did use on stock brake balance 5/5

If i get time tommorow i will do the rest an also have a try at deep forest with the cars that you mentioned previous.

I've run half of the cars at Deep Forest (on-line lobby) and got the following results:

1. 1:45.055 -- Mercedes-Benz A 160 Avantgarde '98 = GTsail290
2. 1:46.155 -- Audi A2 1.4 '02 = GTsail290
3. 1:47.925 -- Honda S800 '66 = GTsail290
4. 1:48.896 -- Triumph Spitfire 1500 74 = GTsail290

12. 1:xxxx -- Ford Ka '01 =
13. 1:xxxx -- Volvo 240 GLT Estate '88 =
14. 1:xxxx -- VW Karmann Ghia Coupe (Type-1) '68 =
15. 1:xxxx -- Fiat Panda Super i.e. '90 =

The Mazda Autozam is a handful!

I will get to the second half tomorrow.

Shuffle an other things are being added in an update, just thought i would let you know, neither the less still great research :)
Oh I totally was doing this anyway.
But it would be wonderful to have shuffle back.
Where did you hear shuffle specifically was planned in an update?? I haven't seen anything about it yet.

And thanks for the times everybody:) 👍

I love the Autozam. :D

Now the Volvo Estate... that's an armful!

Edit:
I'm thinking of using the Matterhorn shortest track as the 3rd track to test on. :ill:
I hate that track. But it just occurred to me that it would be a good way to sort out the cars by torque & handling under braking... the ability to keep the momentum with them, and accelerate up the hill. Plus it's really short & should take not much more than an hour track time to test the cars.
I spent 2 hours on Deep Forest with these cars... plus some other cars. Other cars which I cut out of the list. I think I had 26 cars altogether to begin with, and cut a bunch, because either they were too slow, too fast, or hit the limiter, or rode too much into the red on the straight at DF.

Ok I decided to do some testing, mostly because it gave me a reason to drive the Volvo 240.. Will be posting up times here when I'm done with a car.

Doing all cars without oil change, online, very fast wear, real grip and all that. Doing three laps with every car, if I crash that lap doesn't count.

Deep Forest:

1:46.035 -- Audi A2 1.4 '02 = xNikodemusx
1:50.587 -- Nissan SKYLINE Sport Coupe (BLRA-3) '62 = xNikodemusx
1:52.289 -- Volvo 240 GLT Estate '88 = xNikodemusx

Doh, now I tested the Mini Marcos, thought it was on the list because I just bought it for the vintage car list. it did a 1:42.049 so probably good it wasn't on this list ^^

Just an fyi - you CAN do an oil change. But it's okay if you don't - just make sure you do them all without the oil change on the same track. 👍
If you decide to change the oil later in them all, wait til you're done with the track.

Yeah I just didn't feel like doing oil change on all of them as that would take a lot of time, instead i just don't do it on any of them.

List updated with volvo :) ^

When your in the pit service an your car is up on the lift an you change oil, instead of exiting pit service, just hit select i think on pad an it brings up car selection so when you change car it appears on lift, didnt think it was that bad really.

You can change cars in the pit service?? I had no idea!

Had to retest the VW Karmann because I have to have done something really wrong first time, maybe wrong tires or something, now it's good.

Doh, now I tested the Mini Marcos, thought it was on the list because I just bought it for the vintage car list. it did a 1:42.049 so probably good it wasn't on this list ^^

Autozam is reeeally a handful, but a real good driver could get much more out of it than I did. I was over half a second up in first sector on one lap where i spun and the last corner on my best lap was also really bad so probably 1 second to gain at least. :P

Same with the Beat, it's really hard to handle but you could get a lot more out of it.

edit: oops I pressed reply instead of edit, sorry..

The Mazda Autozam is a handful!

The Karmann Ghia feels like it would be a great drift car with some more horsepower. It was ready to drift in nearly every corner but it was still easily controllable and doesn't want to break free so its an interesting motor if it had a bit more horsepower.

The Fiat Panda feels nice to drive but is just slow.....

See you at the track!

It seems the Spitfire is one of those cars that can be really fast with the right driver, same goes for the Autozam and the BEAT but those two are really snappy and can cause some pretty hilarious spins even for a good driver. If you want to use these cars in makeshift shuffle then maybe you could just split it in the middle and make two different shuffle car-selections from it or something. :)

Also, the Merc might be the worst of all in the corners, it just has sooo much power that it easily beats everyone anyway. ^^

Dam i didnt notice where you had wrote COMFORT SOFT TYRES!!! what an absolute @&£;:£/%^+~}

Edit:
Very Sorry :( Feel like an absolute idiot.. Will fix this.

If you've used the same tires, that's fine too. But yeah, you could probably go a lot faster with the softs. :odd:
I'm a little worried now because it's not like your times stood out as particularly suspicious. Though I did wonder about your time in The Merc.
So now I can expect you to get a better time in the Estate that I get in the Audi A2.

Anyway, I may cut some of these cars, based on testing, before making a shuffle list.
I think the panda & the Avantgarde are both looking a bit like outliers.

I may ADD in a couple more cars too. !
But i will be sure to make that announcement prominent if I do.

These are a list of cars I'd like to test for POSSIBLE inclusion in the list:

Fiat 500 1.2 8V Lounge SS '08
Toyota Yaris F (J) '99
Nissan Be-1 '87
Daihatsu OFC-1 '07
Vauxhall Corsa Comfort 1.4 '01
Suzuki Cappuccino (EA11R) '91
Suzuki WAGON R RR '98
Daihatsu MOVE Custom RS Limited '02
Suzuki MR Wagon Sport '04
Daihatsu MOVE SR-XX 4WD '97
Daihatsu MIRA TR-XX Avanzato R '97

(all on comfort soft ;))

Obviously they probably all won't be suitable. I'm pretty sure a couple would be too fast. But I'd like to see if any might fit well.

In the end I want to wind up with at least 12 cars in the list to use in racing.
Ideally, I'd like to add a couple more cars that fit in the middle (between the Estate & the Copen).

I haven't tested them myself. I don't think any of these are likely to hit the limiter, but I'm not totally sure they're all geared non-crappy.

But I thought I'd put this here, to remind myself to test them on Deep Forest. :)

Plus, if anyone beats me to testing and reports a time on Deep Forest, that would be helpful, to rule them out if any are big outliers. ie: faster than the Avantgarde or slower than the Panda, if they are likely to hit the limiter, or if there's just some major flaw.
