Hay... I have a 360. :grumpy:

Thank god no kids. I'm not saying that so I have more time to play games either...

Well, that's Xbox users for you :indiff:

I was waiting for a comment like that

The system doesn't matter, nor does the product itself. There have been stories of kids being beaten for breaking a TV, crashing the car, etc.

But how many involving any form of the PlayStation?

NONE!

Wow. Who values a $300ish game console more than your own daughter? What would he do if the neighbour's kid ran into his car while riding their bike? This guy needs to be locked away in a deep dark cell where he can't harm anyone.

I'm not sure he did any calculation of value. I'm assuming he killed her in a rage, accidentally (i.e. chose to hurt her, did not intend to kill her), as opposed to him actually making a conscious decision to kill her. Or am I getting 3rd degree murder confused with manslaughter or voluntary manslaughter?

Either way, I second the rest of your statement. Society needs to be protected from this dangerous person.

was it a Xbox 360, or just a plain Xbox?

It was probably just that he got his Dragonmaster up to level 47 from 32 that day and didn't have a chance to save.

Am I the only one that isn't too surprised about this? It's modern society, guys.

No, I can see the conversation now.

"Damnit look what you did now! I only get one free day in seven and you've just lost my whole day's leisure time work! How many times have I told you to watch where you're walking? How many times did I tell you to stop playing there? What does it take to make you listen? Huh? Will this make you listen?"

thump.

"Stop pretending to be asleep!"

thump thump.

"Wake up damnit I'm not through talking to you yet!"

slap slap shake shake

"uh oh."

Dunno if it happened like that but I can see that kind of snap in today's society. It's just way too crowded and you can't do anything outside without someone else complaining. You can't unwind like you could 20 years ago. People don't give eachother the space they used to. There's so much pressure and it's spilled out from the offices and into the homes.

Your new DVD recorder fails to record your favourite program. Call the manufacturer and complain. Then take it back to the reseller and demand a replacement. The Chinese takeaway is too cold. Phone the restaurant and demand a replacement meal within 10 minutes and a refund. It's all pressure pressure pressure for perfection. Then when you get home and your husband / wife / child hasn't creased your pants to perfection, or has left their book / toy where your mug of tea should be, and it all kicks off. People have become very demanding of a high quality of life, and I think this is raising stress.

This in no way condones the actions that are the subject of this thread.

I think that your example, while a good one, is a tad overexaggerated, if only because, in essence, only the very strange people, the ones who feel that they deserve perfection because they were raised with everything set for them, may take this example to such a degree, from my experience.

That's just sickening, I hope he gets sentenced to 47 years.
His punishment should be to continuously play Xbox games for the next 50 years that isn't plugged into any TV set.

That's sad..., really tragic. Reminds me of the girlfriend that beat her boyfriend to death with her iPod after he erased all her songs. People care WAY too much about their 'stuff'.

Just so he could beat his inmate over the head with it?

Quoted for truth.

Now that's just messed up....Although, I find being beaten to death by an iPod something you might want to keep secret at a funeral.
