Manufacturers Comp Wk11 - Chrysler Poll

Remember this poll only lasts for 4 days. Then the winner will be placed in a two day poll with the winner of the poll from the competing manufacturer. Good luck!

Do not vote for yourself, or you will be disqualified.

At least I'm in one poll this week! Still have to think about whom I going to vote for!

-Edit (to atlop): Just read what you wrote in the comp! Those colours (blue and white) are the best looking for that car IMO! Sorry you had to change to yellow, nice shot though!

-Editnr.2! After long thinking I decided to vote for 440s shot! Just great (once more)!

I have noticed the same thing. I think it's important to be able to view the full size imgae. So if not now, in the future, be sure to put the links in Slip.

I realized it after I put both polls up. I too think it's important for people to see the full-sizers, but I can't edit the polls. I could post two more and have these original two deleted, though...

Ah, if you have to make new polls I would'nt worry about it. I would'nt want you to have to spend a bunch of time on it.

LOL don't worry about it. :D First come, first served! And I kinda like my new shot. Not votes though. :indiff: I thought it would do better, but then again I'm totally lousy predicting which ones of my photos will do well and which ones not.

EDIT: Yeah, I'm not psychic. :ouch: Could not feel a vote when it was just around the corner (it appeared while I was writing this post). Thanks Guitar! 👍

That's why I don't like using the radial speed blur! Everyone votes for it! Well, not everyone, but the majority. The voting is so lop-sided it's almost embarassing. Sure, I am winning, but I just feel guilty because it's, in my opinion, unfair. (It seems too easy.) But I guess if people like it, than it will continue on I suppose.:)

lol... a reluctant capitalist :sly:

Maybe I'll be the first to say I found your shot boring and the angle of blur seems kinda off :)

(If you find that offensive then I will surely delete my comment)

Not at all! That's exactly what I am getting at! I have proven my point from earlier comments I made from last weeks competition! The shots with the speed blur are not interesting or captivating, but just cool looking.

Yeah, I toally see what you mean. And once you get radial or motion blur down, it only takes like a couple minutes to produce a competition-winning shot a lot of the time.

I used it for the first time, actually, in my NSX update. However the blur only adds to the picture, it is not dependent on the blur to make it a good pic (in my opinion).

Anyway - Thanks Boogieman! 👍

Nu-uh, I was the first to say that!:sly:

:D

Very nice pic you have there, 440, 👍 but the blur looks a bit too surreal to me and you've put a strange glow around the car. But it's such a cool pic with it's rims, you did a really great job. I voted atlop's pic though, his one was the cleanest of the lot imho.

Also, thanks atlop, franz, jmx2222 and pain killer for voting on my pic. :)

Congratulations to our winner....! Damn 18 votes after such a short time.
But I'm waiting to take the lead with the 4 votes I got.

I feel the same. But that picture is so cool that is impossible for me to stop the v......v ........:scared: ........vo.......voted:dunce:

Impossible:guilty:

I voted SRT-10. How did he get those rims so big! Never seen that on a SRT-10.

Further to what 440 Charger says in that above quote, to me the reason why his Viper shot works so well is because the blur effect focuses your attention on the car, not the blur itself. I'd wager that the orginal is a pretty damn good shot in it's own right, Charger would you carw to show us?

Sure! It might surprise you though. The wheels are a tad bit bigger than the original because I had to skew them a bit to make them fit in right, since I moved them in from two other shots focused on the wheels. I did'nt get the angle exactly the same with the other two shots so I had to enlarge them just a little to fit over the old rims. And the Viper's wheels, and the bling wheels, are so large anyways..... But other than, it's a lot of jaggie clean up!

Here are the three shots I used:

Here is another one I did with a gradient adjustment layer:

I don't know if this should be brought up, but 440's unusual method brings up a point in my head; exactly how much Photoshopping do people deem acceptable for the comp? I'm asking because while I don't mind the use of blur lately (I'm just as guilty), I was always under the impression we were sticking to using a single image as the basis of our entries. Going by the rules I was given when I took this over, that's a bit more complicated. And if we can cut/paste from numerous images, what's stopping someone from a multi-car Photo Travel shot?

I'm by no means picking on 440 here, I just thought I'd use this as a time to bring it up, since it is a gray area; what is everyone's opinion on using multiple images to fuse into a final entry? Maybe it's a fairly common thing and I've just never thought to use it, I don't know ;).

That's the part that's kind of iffy:

You can use layers for overlay and layer adjustments, but not to alter the geometry and original subject matter of the picture: like
adding stickers and body kits, and objects that are not in the original image

Obviously my example of using multiple cars is too extreme, but using infinite focal points is a huge advantage. Especially as 440 pointed out, they're a bit bigger in the final image. I'm not saying it's wrong, I just wanted to work up some discussion about it :)
