That's the part that's kind of iffy:

Obviously my example of using multiple cars is too extreme, but using infinite focal points is a huge advantage. Especially as 440 pointed out, they're a bit bigger in the final image. I'm not saying it's wrong, I just wanted to work up some discussion about it :)
Its an interesting topic and using multiple focal points would be helpful in the final pic, especially in getting the perfect blur on the wheels.

So wait...In reality he used 3 photos for one entry? Is this acceptable? Although I have made a duplicate of a layer I already had and used layer adjustments, I would think placing a different pic on top of that would not be allowed. Just my opinion.

I thought it had been done before and discussed before, so that's why I thought I would try that method. I could have done a radial blur on the wheels and it probably would have looked farily similar to what I have now. Sure, cutting and pasting the blurred wheels in is definetley going to look better, but would it look so much better as to give a huge advantage? It's probably not going to make that huge of a difference. I think radial blurring the background or motion blurring the background is just as big of an advantage as cutting and pasting blurred wheels, sooo.... And I would also like to say that those wheels look and are blurred the way GT4 took them, so... I could do the same type of method on the background, so it's all in how far you guys want to allow us to take the Photoshoping from now on. Discuss.....:scared:

It very well could've been discussed before; I didn't make my way into the 2.0 Comp until Week 10. This is exactly why I brought it up 440, for discussion, since I don't think a whole lot of people have looked at it. And like you said, it's just as much of an advantage as Photoshop's blur filters, but it's just a matter of drawing a clear line for future reference. We can say it's "just a little bit" and leave it unclear, and eventually someone will top that by "just a little bit". I feel like getting it out of the way now :).

It has no bearing on this week's poll. I thought I should mention that too.

I reckon that so long as its not over-the-top and something that could not possibly be achieved with one pic in photoshop it should be Ok. I wouldn't encourage it, yet I wouldn't disallow it either.

I agree. There is nothing in my shot that is there that GT4 did'nt put there. I think that the blurred background alters the picture much more than cutting and pasting blurred wheels. But it does'nt matter to me if we allow it or not, because I don't even like using the blurred background. I may do it again, but not on a regular basis. I just did it this week to prove my point that on any given theme, if someone submits a shot with alot of motion blurred applied to it, it will win.
