How can you make a poll about the question, if something was confirmed?

Either it was or it wasn't...this is not a matter of interpretation.

Because I can do that its my thread so I will put a poll on it or not. If you dont like the fact that I put a poll on my own question don't vote. I apologize if I sound like an ***hole but thats how I am at times.

I'd say Maserati being in GTPSP pretty much confirms it. If they can acquire the license for it for GTPSP, it's no stretch to imagine securing licensing for GT5.

This is good, as Masers are my wife's favorite ... maybe she won't mind my almost-guaranteed dozens of hours sitting in front of GT5 as long as I'm using a GranTurismo S.

Except Maserati is only in GTPSP through advertising. There's no evidence that says it'll be any different in GT5.

Aren't they? I've seen a "full" car list (the one posted on the main news page of this site even says that it is not complete) which lists the Quattroporte, GranTurismo S and one or two others that I've forgotten. I don't have GTPSP so I can't confirm it either way.

If someone has an actual photo of a Maserati in GTPSP, I'd love to see it.

Until then, all the GTPSP lists I've seen feature Maserati also claim a bunch of Lamborghinis, but leave out the confirmed 25th Anniv. Countach.

Then the list is wrong. Please link this list (I have GT PSP).

You swa Maerti mentioned in GT PSP's credits, right. Did you see any Maserati cars in GT PSP beyond the Maerati poster on Tokyo R246 or any other poster should any others be in the game? No. Thought not, Maserati's inclusion in GT PSP extends as far as PD re-creating a Merserati Poster on the Tokyo track which is there in real life, that's the full extent of the license listed in GT PSP.

Maserati may be in GT5, we don't know, but if they are then it will have been nothing at all to do with the licencse credited in GT PSP which was purelty permission to replicate that poster.
Why would PD bother getting the Maserati licence just so that they could recreate a trackside billboard ad? :boggled: And how do you know that the Maserati licence that PD now has is only limited to replicating that poster in the PSP version? ;)

After all, PD decided to include only two Ferraris and two Lamborghinis in the PSP version. Does that automatically mean that there won't be any more cars from these manufacturers in GT5? :sly:

We don't know, but we're just trying to let you guys know not to get your hopes up just because you see 1 mention in the licenses, or 1 car being photographed.

Well, that all being said: I certainly hope they appear in GT5. I know that'll be the only way my wife won't give me grief for playing it at all hours...

I understand, and I'm not going to get mad if Maserati or some other manufacturer isn't in the game (at least not too much!). It's just that, in my opinion, there is already a lot of evidence that points to Maserati being in the game. But, I suppose nothing is final until we see the official car list from PD! :scared:

How do I know that's all the license is for? How about because that's all it was used for and that's all that the license credited in GT PSP's credits. Think about it a bit, there are no, that's none, or in other words zero Maserati's in GT PSP. With that in mind, what do you suggest the Maserati license used and credited in GT PSP was for exactley?

No, but it doesn't automatically mean that there will, and I am talking theoretically here. We already know that there are more Ferrari's in GT5. But even then it's not completely relevant to any discussion concerning a brand not present in any playable capacity. To use GT PSP to back my point further, we know PD have the Bugatti license, they have the Veyron and it's in GT PSP does that mean that either Bugatti and the Veyron are licensed and credited in GT5:P? No, they arn't in GT5:P and so they arn't credited in GT5:P. Maserati is credited in GT PSP but there are no Maserati cars in GT PSP yet Maserati is included in the form of a billboard add which is in that location in real life, thereford the only purpose to credit Maserati in GT PSP is for the replication of that ad. Comprende?

The single biggest peice of evidence to remotely hint at Maserati's inclusion is that picture from the roof of PD's oficces where they are phtographing a Maserati. But even that doesn't mean they are licensed and ready to be included. PD wen't through thier photographing and information gathering routines on many cars during GT4's development that never made an appearence.

Don't get me wrong, I am most certainly not saying Maserati won't be in GT5, what I am saying is that their inclusion would have nothing to do with the credits in GT PSP and/or that poster, and with that in mind to base an argument that they must be included because of thoes credits and/or that poster is a seriously flawed point of view.

Exactly. This is my view on the subject.
Corrected for argentine spelling.

I'm hoping they might reveal it with a classy trailer or something. So far they had one for Calfornia, Citroen GT, 458, and the Toyota concept. But then again, the reveal of Lamborghini wasn't too hot. We had to find out through pictures and replays.

I think there is a lot that we don't know about GT5 yet, and everything we already do know might just be the skin of an apple...or not.

When would be the next batch of GT5 news be anyways? Are there even anymore gaming events from here on? I thought the auto show might, but that's just an Auto Show.

The next news is likely to be at the Tokyo Motorshow in 2 weeks since it's being sponsored by Gran Turismo, but there's no guarentee that there will be any new news beyong GT simply making an appearance possibly in the same form as at TGS.

I'm hoping they show the crash video that was shown at PD studios a few weeks back. I'm eager to see what the damage is like now.

Fair enough, you bring up good points. 👍

I know that PD have photographed a lot of cars during the years that, for one reason or another, haven't made the cut. But I still think that this is different; having Maserati credited in GT PSP shows that PD have managed to form some sort of relationship with Maserati. I admit of course, that I obviously don't know the extent of the licensing agreement that exists between PD and Maserati either. :embarrassed:

I'll put it this way; in my opinion the chances of us seeing Maserati in the game are better than, for example, seeing Porsche or Koenigsegg. That's the way I see it! ;)

Everyone makes good points about which car is in or not and which has a better chance than say porsche. Honestly I dont like porsche at all and could care less if they are ever included in a GT game now as for Maserati I was just commenting on the fact that they were in the credits, whether it was for the poster on the building or the fact that they had considered including them in GT:PSP and decided not to at the last second was on PD. We can by no means say it is in there or isnt just based off of our own speculations or theory. We have seen them photographing a Maserati and now we have seen they have a license but we dont know to the extent of what it entails until we see a screenshot of one in GT5 all we can say is maybe they are in GT5, maybe not. because we have a photo of them photographing one doesnt mean that Maserati didnt decide ok you've taken pics of it but now we decided that we dont want our car in the game but you still have the license for billboards thats it. As of this point we dont know what has happened

On a side note, where in Tokyo R246 is this Maserati poster? This is news to me.

Just before the first turn, you have too be looking back down the straight to see it. There is a Maserati/Bentley dealer there.

I would guess that the car in the Maserati ad is in the game, mostly because they probably had to model the car completely in 3D to get the right angle for the ad. Now, I understand that it in no way guarantees that it will be usable in the game, but the chances are very high in my opinion.

EH:confused:??????????
Why would they have to model the car at all when all they need is a picture? I can assure you, the poster in GT PSP and GT5 is not a picture of a car PD modelled and taken a screen capture of. It is just a picture of the car put into the game.
