But I would say that there is a major difference between the two. Shows made for political satire usually stop at pointing out contrasts between what politicians say and what they do (or things along those lines). G4 takes things, points out the contrasts, then presents it in a way that totally demeans the very thing they are trying to support.Sometimes satire can bring attention to an issue often ignored. Just look at how many young people base their political opinions on The Daily Show.
G$ and major news don't go together in the same sentence. But I would say that there is a major difference between the two. Shows made for political satire usually stop at pointing out contrasts between what politicians say and what they do (or things along those lines). G4 takes things, points out the contrasts, then presents it in a way that totally demeans the very thing they are trying to support.
I guess I am trying to say that G4 doing a major news-type piece on this would just make it seem all the more obvious that gamers are childish fools that need things done for them.
I don't read satire and parody as the same thing. And G4 doesn't seem to me like a network that could pull off a satire to save there life. But I didn't mean it to be presented as an actual news report, but as a blatant parody with the tables turned.
Well, I just said G4 because it is the only dedicated gaming network.I don't read satire and parody as the same thing. And G4 doesn't seem to me like a network that could pull off a satire to save there life.
To put it into movie speak (because I am at a loss for words), we would need an Airplane!, and they would give us a Scary Movie 4.
