Matching issues???

I posted on the previous page that I failed to get in a race in an unusual way and when I checked my players met list it did list a TeamGT member as the player I would have met if I had been in the race.

It could be they changed the coding for online matching to circumvent what Team GT is doing. Maybe they used a bomb whereas a bullet would have done the job.
 
If it turns out that TeamGT is doing this then they need to be banned from the PSN network. So far, i have only had a few races with more than 4 people. Most of yesterday, i was getting 2, 3 and 4 player races.

We dont know for sure if theyre (or more people) doing it... but given the evidence presented it IS a possibility... Dont think we should start pointing the finger just yet though...
 
The problem is that they put the instructions of how to kick people from races on their website so anybody could be doing it.

You're right. The trouble is trying to get answers or an acknowledgment from Sony is like pulling a healthy tooth out of a pissed off gorilla's mouth.

actually last night i tried to get into Suzuka but always the first matching progress failed, the 2nd worked and then there were maybe 4-5 drivers, all of them unprofessional!

Once though it matched me and i got the joining race saying and i appeared on the grid for the 3-2-1 count down but then got disconnected and i saw several TeamGT members, NOW i'm not literally saying its them, but kinda strange that we always get disconnected in the first time matching, but the 2nd matching works perfectly... and then there were TeamGT drivers in that grid. (i dont know if they got disconnected too but i doubt that for some reason...)

WHo are these "TeamGT" playas? I've never heard of them before now. Also, how would they be possibily connected to this issue. (if they are at all) I'm just wondering about these thoughts.

yes something is wrong. mostly (after the japan racer off to bed) i´m host. yes i can join and create races, but i miss my other friends, in the moment zabeu and Synwraith can´t join my races. :ouch:

and i´m sure, it´s not because of the privat rooms from TeamGT. ;) this races you can´t join and you will get a error, like ?:300000?? and you must start the matching progress again. ;)

Not everyone did the update when it was 1st available, and when was the update 1st available?

I started having problems on the 18th. "We" might want to do more investigting.

"WE", are my GT friends. "WE", talk daily. "WE", Are trying to make you aware of avenues that "WE" already explored.
Geez.
 
I was able to find more friends more often with faster matching today 👍 I did still miss some a few times but it seemed beter. I would not say 'resolved' just yet though.
 
I had the same in the first starter race yesterday evening, quite OK time to match and got more then 5 competitors in the 5 races I did, even up to 12 in one.
 
well, everything seems to be perfect now, had one race at suzuka with a full grid. mainly JP drivers but really good!

I tried racing last night, and it took about 2 minutes before it finally found a match with that entire globe/ring thing checking for matches. Once I got in, only 2 other cars were with me. The next time, same problem, but it had 3 cars instead of just 2. Last week I got in quicker, but it only had 5 cars.

Which race were you doing exactly? I personally think it all depends on how busy the race is, because the more people on the race the easier it is to find a race.

Most people on here play the pro races and this is where the issue seems to have been lately, in that we know we're all online and entering a race at the same time, however we have been placed in several small races rather than in the same race with a bigger grid. Thankfully the issue seems to have sorted itself out for the time being.

If you're up for racing others on here, I suggest you check out some of the slots people are running in the race events part if this forum ( https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=198 ) or go to the online chat, there's usually someone around 👍

Thanks Andy, I appreciate the link and comments. However, I am new to the GT series as of last week (always run Forza 2...and Forza 1 when it was out..online). So, I need to learn the new cars, tracks, the PS3 controller (used to my MS Wheel) before I get out there with the big boys. As it stands right now, I need to spend more time with the beginners it seems!

I will surely hit the pro games once I get a bit more comfortable.

Last of the subforums, there's a chatroom on here where people can meet up, arrange races etc. I'm fairly new to GT5 myself and I'd suggest you forget beginner and practise purely on pro physics, otherwise you'll have to learn the tracks again anyway! I started the game with pro straight away and built up to the onine events. I wouldn't worry about being slow, as long as your clean and fair, people won't mind!
 
Thanks Andy. I am using Pro Physics for my career (no other way IMO!). I take it that when I join a beginner online room, it changes my settings off of Pro Physics then?

I will check out the chatroom.
 
The matching issues seem to have been resolved. Thank the racing gods because some of the races you would get placed in were dreadful.

As for Andys comment about jumping straight to pro I agree 👍
