with my veyron i have all of the upgrades in place and the transmission set to its maximum of 304mph (i think) but i hit the rev limiter at something like 287mph yet other people can go a lot faster, some even hitting 300mph..... so how is that possible?!?!?!

Tuning gears for top speed is all about reaching the top speed at max power. If you have a car that have max power at 6000rpm but redlines at 7500rpm you would want your car to finish the top speed run at 6000rpm. After 6000rpm your car would become less powerful resulting in less speed. Also when you shift into your highest gear your rpms should drop to about 4800-5000rpm and build up to 6000rpm slowly.

I typically set my top speed to around 270mph. After that I run the top speed test on route x. If I hit 245mph at 7000rpm I will adjust the highest gear for more speed. If you do it right you should go faster with slightly less rpms. Just keep doing that till you hit your max speed at max power.

Alot of playing around with 6th, 7th & Final gear ratio's 👍

Ive been fiddling with these the last few hours and just cannot get the car beyond 279.3mph. If I change the final drive value one click to the right or left the speed will not pass 279.2, and likewise with 7th gear. I know its possible as i just got overtaken in an online room on Route X by another Veyron and he left me for dead! Im stumped!

+1 One of the most useful pieces of tuning ever. At least for the transmission.

I just made this if you want to try. I posted it in another thread, but I just noticed this too.

TUNER COMMENTS:
I tried small changes, but couldn't get it around the corners without spinning. I have found with this tune I was able to hit faster speeds and make the turns plus it has a higher top speed for drafting. For me when turning you still need to be careful tho with this. Turn just a little and when you feel it start to slip tunr in the other direction. Just small turns to keep it level. The toe helps a lot, but isn't too much to kill the straights. Finally the straights although you are going straight the car tends to almost hydroplane and the front wheels lift right off the ground. You will have to turn fairly hard to get it to shift over a bit. Just remember that when drafting someone and needing to go around them.

Normal driving: 300mph
With a draft: 350+

Many people make the mistake of lowering the Veyron, try raising your ride height. It will handle a lot better.

I can easily draft at 350+ in the Veryon and it corners like a dream.

Not what I found. Truthfully you can do pretty much any tune you want for it because drafting is all that's gonna matter, but to get actual top speed with no draft it has to be lowered more. It can actually go faster by itself, but this is what I found to be the best combo of pure speed, turning, and drafting

I tried the above tune compared to mine. Although the tune was 2mph faster it lost a good bit of speed in the corners. With my tune what I lost against the 2mph I gained in the corners. Going out of turn 2 I was .700 ahead of the above tune... going into turn 3 I was only .400. But gained .100 coming out of turn 4 going across the finish line making .500. This was just 1 lap though. That 2mph would have caught up on that front stretch if I would have done more than 1 lap. Awesome tune though. Except for lost of corner speed. Thanks for sharing

I tried you setup and transmission tune and really didn't care for it. For me, it was too slow off the line which was causing me to loose the draft. Top speed, by yourself, really doesn't matter unless your racing by yourself. If you not in the draft you'll never catch them. I'm not saying that your setup doesn't work for you, it just didn't work for me.

With my setup I can easily stay with the draft. By raising the ride height and softening the anti-roll bars will significantly help with the cornering.

to keep up with people off the line try raising the rear but leaving the front a little lower. soften the rear sus a bit too. you'll get much better traction off the line without much of an effect on cornering or high speed. obviously that needs to match the rest of the tune, but just a small observation i had :)

But he wants a pure topspeed tune.
