Mazda fini RX-7 tuning

Wanted to ask you guys a question about the premium Mazda Ẽfini RX-7 Type R '91. Every time I enter a turn and initiate a drift, this car's tail just seems to swing all the way around, spinning me out and causing me to lose all my points. Is there anything I can do in regard to tuning the suspension to keep this car's rear under control? Thanks in advance :D

Since the 91' Ẽfini is the 1st FD RX-7 was released, the Zenki models tend to have some large gaps to improve. The car itself has a lot of major improvements to work on. The Spirit R FD is what I would choose if your don't want a FD oversteering like crazy.

I would probably work on the LSD, keep the turbo stock(Turbo Kits give lag), add a GT Wing for downforce, make sure suspension isn't too soft and make sure your tires are Comfort Soft if you use Comfort Soft.

Will do. Thanks dude 👍

A medium or low RPM turbo works good on those cars. Better then most of the people think 👍. Give it a shot ! It works on my S2000, Honda civic ( not a drift car ) and the ae86. They have insane lag with high rpm turbo.

Shortening gears helps, but its not always the best choice.

Nothing more to add, well said.

Thanks! Though If GT5 had a Boost-Up option(Increasing boost with stock turbines) and some shock settings and tire size choice. That be awesome!
I almost forgot about the transmission part! Choose what's most needed for the transmission choice.

On one point i agree, it is easier to initiate a drift on a car that dose not have
turbo lag.
but considering the amount of horsepower you need a 'laggy' turbo
is unavoidable...
its what drifters do in real life, the trick is keeping it in the right rpm range.
it comes from experience and getting to know the car.. there is no need to drift on low rpm if your setup is correct.

Some lobbies have HP limits.
Most of my comp cars have medium rpm turbos. Some have low RPM turbos. It works the same as a supercharger, you get more power on low RPM, it better not having High RPM turbo if you want to keep your car at a X amount of RPM and stay in gear X. If you want a high RPM turbo, thats good as well, but it depends oon your style of drifting and how you tune the gears. If you makes all gears shorter to avoid turbo lag, your car will fly when you shift. Unless you change a lot of things, lower final gear, but high top speeds COULD be good, but it may get too much boost from the turbo

I haven´t put a high RPM turbo on a drift car for months, because I find it better to get more power with a medium turbo. I barely tune my engine as well. Almost in every case I have a medium turbo, on my 480 HP Lexus SC300 I have a low RPM turbo with a powerfull exhaust, what works better than a medium turbo with a less powered exhaust. ( VDC car ).

Example, if you got a Supra, the difference between the amount of HP you get on a medium and high rpm turbo isn`t much, a medium turbo is more usefull for me personally.

@Duman079:
Well, you have alot more eperience than me on these things, im still experimenting
on drift setup's, trying to figure out what works best for me.
thought the whole turbo thing was kind of universal but i guess i should try different
types of settings before loudmouthing (:

the thing is im used to high powerd setups from forza, this game is different.
