Cool. 131 here at 38:424. Might be able to find more time but I limit myself to 10 laps or 10 runs in this case and then it's time to move on.

I went back to check my position and I'm now 9461st in the world.

Hey, the first two numbers make 94. That counts, right?

If you are on the leader board it means you ran at least one clean lap and that counts no matter how fast or slow it was. I learned something a long time ago and that is, all one can say is they are the fastest today in this event. There is always someone faster, bigger, stronger. Do the best you can and don't worry where it ends up because if we need to use this to boost our ego's we are all in big trouble :)

An easy gold as long as you stay off the barriers.
 That is the problem, isn't it? :)

Ugh. Hate Goodwood. Got bronze (that's how I stay off the barriers ;) ) and I'm done. Blegh.

I never completed all the Goodwood events before and I don't see any reason to agonize over this one. Plus, it's hot out (83°F/28.3°C outside at 10:30 pm and 87°F/30.5°C in my A/C-less apartment), and there's no way I'm beating my head against this wall. :)

What a useless event. Didn't feel like dragging the race chair across the room for an hour of game play so did it with the DS3. Took me so many runs to just complete one run. Then my prize car didn't happen because I had a full garage. Just crap. Glad I wasted my time on this one.

Only ran this event briefly to get gold... the car has zero front grip... did they fit CH tyres on the front?

If you move a car to the Stockyard to make room for it, you'll get the prize car if you re-enter the event.

I had plenty of time to practice this combo while I was at Goodwood over the weekend, and I'd reached a point where I could dip under 37 seconds on an almost regular basis (as could @Tidgney, who managed to get a tenth under my best of a 36.8xx).

Trying this event back at home has helped me discover one thing: the DFGT I use is completely knackered  I've had it for about six years, and there's so much play and inconsistency in the steering now that I'm navigating the Flint Wall more by luck than judgement. It's possible to drive around the problem in slow stuff, but timing fast corners and catching slides is a tricky! Can't get close to my best time at the moment..

The weird thing for me was that as soon as the game booted, I started up the LM55 and took it to the new Goodwood (single player TT, not the seasonal), where I managed a 42.3xx, with Race Mediums granted. Within 2-3 laps as well. So I went in to this thinking it'd be walk in the park, but low and behold, I guess performance stress got to me or something, because it took me something like 40 mins to gold. It was incredible how much I kept going off, especially when earlier I had very little problem!

When I finally did manage to gold, it was a 40.xxx, so I was happy enough with that. Maybe I'll give it another go later i the week, but I'm mostly focusing on the FGT silverstone one, and the Tomahawk GTS and X TTs.

This was absolute torture for me. :banghead: Evilwood is a far more fitting name for this place. I've either gone off or hit a barrier at almost every point of the track. Why on earth is the final section before the finish line so narrow?

I almost lost it on this lap too. :scared:

I can't imagine anyone doing this... road (it's not even a track) at speed in real life. If they do, they're nuts. It's a crash waiting to happen.

Im chasing you on this one but you don't make it easy that's for sure. I had one of many hundred attempts where I was over .700 ahead of my fastest ghost only to clip the grass and eat the wall. I was devastated. One of the most frustrating events I can remember for many a while....

Goodwood is the most frustrating track/road/patch of dirt in the game for me. I must have been disqualified about 500 times during my countless attempts. Don't think I'll ever run this again.

You almost got me. :scared: đź‘Ť

I don't remember if you have to assign a button or not, but for me I just press up on the D-Pad.

Thank you

Regarding my attempt at the the seasonal i give up. done at least and hour worth of runs and only done 5-6 clean run. Silver it is with a 42.4XX cant get any more out of the car. How the hell people are setting times like 1:36.xxx is just ridiculous. Cars far to wide for this track and the brake bias is bloody awful and it's far to strict when you brush the barriers. I...give...up

I am seriously struggling with this event. Not so much the bales since well, I almost never get that far. The rear end will snap suddenly, sending me backwards over the grass into the wall at any time on the first part of the track. If not before, then while breaking before the slow left hander. In rare cases I manage to get past that one, but then it all ends in the chicane after the left hander. The visibility is pretty much zero for me, just a lot of shadows. I just have to pick a line through the darkness and hope for the best, and it all ends there. I don't remember this being as bad before. Has this changed as part of the update?

The Goodwood road hasn't changed at all, but the sensitivity of the barriers has. The FOS hillclimb is all about muscle-memory- have you done the FOS special event? Once you have a feel for it, you'll end up at the finish line before you even realize you've gotten there.

If the rear of the Mazda is snapping, you've put a tire in the grass. The car is just barely narrower than the track itself. Molecomb (the slow left-hander) is tough, but the key there is slow-in, fast-out...and brake in a straight line before you get to the slight bend before the turn. Eventually you want to be able to modulate the brakes and trail-brake thru the slight bend, but just focus on getting up the hill first.

Baby steps. Even though my PSN friends did MUCH better than I in this Seasonal, I was fortunate to even get this Mazda into my collection. I think I logged a 51-second run on this course. Bronze is 55 seconds, and Silver is somewhere south of 50 seconds. I remembered struggling with the Red Bull prototype around Goodwood, so this experience is similar to me in regards to taking crazy fast cars around Goodwood.

The most important of all though- I completed the course with a qualifying time.

What I cant figure out is the penalty. In some of the missions in Goodwood Festival of Speed I didn't get a penalty when I touched the wall slightly with the Alfa Romeo Stradale. An easy gold but here it would be a 'try again'...

In this special event they really turned up the sensitivity of those hay bales and walls. It's much tougher, especially if you're like me and use bumper or in-car cam and can't use 3rd-person view.
