How did you make the Evo X's maximum HP @ 540? I bought all the your suggested parts and all i got is 500HP at maximum. Thanks for the guide!

Looking for a great setup for my Mazda Roadster 07. So I look in "MAZDA"man's garage. What's the premiere tune? An Evo, go figure...

Thanks dude.

Boy was this car a great challenge for me. This is a car that is not only decent mid rpm but has a bad understeer. I played with the settings a little and bam this is what I got. Also the car ran Tuskuba at 1:01:500 it ran Grand Valley east at 1:10:574 this car runs it beast on intermediate tires.
Mazdaman has "updated" this tune but these are the original settings. I will note at the end why I have used these instead.

The Evo X was quite a highly anticipated car in the automotive world. It is very popular with tuners and has a history of being exception right out of the box. Driving it around in GT5 is the same. In stock form it is fast, capable and easy to use. It suits my "point and shoot" style very nicely; get it into the corner entry and mash the throttle out the exit. The car is stable the whole way but does understeer quite a bit. One of the things I liked about it was that if you got off the throttle, the nose would tuck into the corner. This let me come off the brakes a little sooner onto the throttle through the apex and out the other side nice and quick. Speaking of the brakes, they are nicely balanced for my style. The whole package is very nice and it is incredibly easy to turn out a nice lap. My quickest around GVS after 5 laps was 2'14.563" which is a little faster than I figured it would be going into the test.

With the parts list on it is faster for sure but a harder to get around. The nose tuck is still around but it is not as noticeable and less useful than it was stock. This makes the understeer more prevalent, particularly on entry. To compensate I had to come in a tad slower or turn in a hair sooner on the more gradual curves. It still turned in a nice lap of 2'00.366".

Using Mazdaman's settings turns the car into...I'm not sure yet. Putting it nicely, I feel like the car has become inconsistent with itself. In some places it will understeer and at other points it has slight oversteer. Coming back on the next lap it is all switched around. It seems as though there is a very small sweet spot where it will blow through the corners but it is hard to find. I think the brakes compound this problem by being too snatchy. The setup seems to favor late braking as you can slow the car very quickly, but fine speed adjustment is just not possible. I could not just tap the brakes to shed a little speed or shift weight to the front, for example, coming up the hill after the first hairpin. Try as I might I could not break the two minute barrier ending up with a 2'00.175" best. If it can find some consistency or a way to open up that sweet spot this car can run a faster lap without a doubt.

To my point earlier, what I reviewed was the originally released settings for this car from Mazdaman. I had wanted to compare old and new to see what improvements were made. However, this is not possible:

New and improved with new settings. This is a car that is not only decent mid rpm but had a bad understeer. I played with the settings a little and bam this is what I got. Also the car ran Tuskuba at 0:58:850 it ran Grand Valley east at 1:10:574 this car runs it beast on intermediate tires.

This car ran no such time on any track. The suspension settings cannot be achieved as the rear ride height does not go down past -20. This car does not and cannot exist. It has been pointed out and still not addressed after several months and therefore I must conclude that it is as it has been accused, a ripoff setup that has been tweaked without any testing to see if it is possible. Taking this into account I cannot take anything else in this garage seriously no matter how good it may be. This is unfortunate as were a few comparisons I was hoping to make between several garages. I will have to leave this one off the list.

Hmm think you can try to create a Toyota Supra that is amazing on the SSR7 Tunnel drag race. (Full tunnel drag racing though)

Many thanks!

The most u can get for the rear ride height is on -20 how did you manage a -22

Read the thread. He stole the settings, got caught, buggered off with what little dignity he had ruined.

He "managed" -22 by taking my settings for the EvoX and moving a few numbers around slightly without actually testing the car.

Or even putting the settings on it.

Fun part, and the reason that car has the name and banner it does? The car he used for these pics is the same one I did the tune on; the owner brought it to me AFTER Mazdaman had tuned it and had me redo it. I also resprayed it and changed the wheels. Mazdaman noticed this months later and plagiarized multiple setups from both myself and Roj.

hi mazdaman's could you give a tune for my supercharged mazda roadster tc soft sport tires to the best tsukuba time?
thank you

Hi,

Is possible an 2.09 tune to Camaro SS RM 10, with racing soft tires and
no ABS, please? I have to much oversteer! I would like to try in Trial Mountain.

Thanks!
