It’s been hinted for a while but they finally confirmed their 2027 entry plan. The future of endurance racing is in a very good place.

Full details coming at Le Mans in June. It’s expected to be a LMDh with a chassis from Dallara and a variant of the V6 engine from the Artura (although the teaser video is apparently using the Solus V10!)

Yes! McLaren is one of the two manufacturers I predicted would join the LMH class. (The other being Bugatti) And they're joining the Hypercar grid the same year as Ford too! I'm really looking forward to the 2027 season!

It is amazing to see how this format has evolved. The growing list of top-tier manufacturers getting involved is exactly what the sport needed. Really exciting times ahead!
It‘s like the golden age of Group C and IMSA all over again!

Hopefully Peugeot figure out their problems with the 9X8 and remain in the competition (either with an Evo upgrade or the apparent plan that Stellantis run an Alfa Romeo entry instead). A return for Lamborghini would also be great if they can find a customer team to improve the reliability of the SC63.

I've seen reports that the McLaren is already quite far along in development and should be doing testing from early next year.
