The thread is in a sub-section of the GT5 section of the site; as such, one would certainly hope it's about the game. Want to talk general drifting? Maybe Formula Drift? There's just two threads discussing the real-life stuff, and there's plenty more elsewhere on the 'Planet.

If you see a post (or posts) that you think are falling foul of the AUP, report them. The moderators can only deal with what they're aware of, and considering the size of the site, it's possible we can miss things. I'd worry about your posting habits as well, though, before pointing fingers everywhere else.

SlipZtrEm, why can not They talk about wat They want, it's MCR's Team Theard. They havent done eany thing wrong, it does not bother me that they discuss much. It's GOOD that they ar holding together. Maybe it feels like They talk muche, but that just because They have many active members :)
 
We should petition team threads to be immune of the strict "off-topic" policy.

It's first aim is to recruit and advertise our team, of course, but it should be a place where we can talk freely with our fellow members.

Obviously stupid posts should be deleted, but as long as it follows the almighty AUP what's wrong with talking amongst team mates in your own thread?

After all it's not your normal type of one-question-one-topic thread, they should be treated as more of a "lobby" for the team where you can recruit and get to know the members if you want to join, without being strangled by highly restricted off-topic rules.

Just my opinion.

Agreed. That has been brought up many times before. Spank was warning me when I asked the same thing two years ago. I mean they don't care about threads getting off-topic once in a while, just not all of the time/frequently. At least the moderators have that much leniency (which they don't have to have).

Anyway, I hope to drift with you guys tomorrow. Always is a blast in your rooms.

And if one section were to become an apparent safe-haven for spam posting, why stop it there?

Feel free to start some sort of petition over in Site Support if you feel that strongly about it, but I can safely tell you it's been a long-held stance to keep off-topic slow chat out of threads in pretty much every section of the site for years now.

This isn't a chat-room (although we had one of those before). There are plenty of other threads in the other sections covering nearly every sort of topic imaginable, and if there isn't, why is there a fear of making one? Having a lengthy, monolithic team thread that consists of almost nothing relating to the team's endeavours in the game won't be very inviting to potential recruits - quite the opposite, really.

It's no more restrictive than every other section of the site, though.

So basically every topic we wish to talk about, the whole team should move to another thread each time even if its mid-discussion? Hmmmm, there's only so much you can say about drifting, quite hard considering we don't want the thread to die. But cool.

I'd just leave it greazy, every one knows its stupid but you can't argue about it or they just lock the thread. Ill be on for some dori about 3 any one going to be on ?.
