Anyone hear about Mcrae's challenge to Micheal Schumacher?

Mcrae wanted to challenge Micheal to a race

first race would be in a F1 car

then a

WRC car..

Did you read through the rest of my thread? His response was posted there... :)

No contest Colin would take him, 2 years ago Colin took a spin in a Jordan F1 at Silverstone and equalled the lap record easily. On dirt it wouldn't even be close.

I think Colin would probably win, but since the challenge was refused we will never know...

i think it takes skill in both, you need skills from each to do either, just my opinion, but hey :)

The cross-discipline driving of an F1 driver in a WRC car and vice-versa is really exploring the dynamic of precision v. raw control that pretty much embodies the two sports. Where F1 is measured in 1/1000ths, WRC is measured in 1/10ths.

Michael Schumacher and Colin McRae are probably at the absolute limits of those curves, where Schumacher represents the precision side and McRae the car-control. I would say that the top match-ups would be:

Gronholm-M.Schumacher
Solberg-Raikkonen
C.McRae-Montoya

But if Schumacher got the better of him in the F1 car, and vice versa in the VRC car... I'm stumped as to what exactly this would prove

same mcrae isnt the best rally driver of this era. he is by no way the same as michal schumacher. schumacer is the god of the modern era of f1, so if schuie got the better of mcrae, it would just prove what everyone knows, schumacher is the best driver in the world at the moment. mcrae aint that good to challenge schuie, if anything it should be gromholm instead, he is better at the moment

but what if there was a tie if this was to happen? maybe they could do some sort of really stupid race, like Unicycle or llama racing
!

The crux of the matter is that when schumacher was in an inferior car (benetton) he won championships, when mcrae was in an inferior car (Focus) he won nothin. Mcrae is overrated for his time - Makinnen showed him the way

Hey Jordan I can't seem to get that thread - it doesn't seem to be working.
Are you kidding M Schumacher actually posted there or something.

The Link is now fixed wee_man.

look rally drivers never go across the same terain twice that makes them very adaptable a full bodie car is so much harder to drive than one that has more downforce than weight

f-1 one drivers depend more on a better car or track stratige to win all the turns are the same. add that with the fact that every f-1 team has a team of mechanical engineres talking to the car all the way around the track making it faster thru each turn

so all things being equal i say that rally drivers are better drivers
and f-1 has better cars. so collin would win and schumacer knows that
