Memory card loading times vs UMD

Just thought I'd put out some info on how much faster using a memory card is compared to running the game of UMD.

Start to main menu
UMD 1:14, Card 1:06

Loading race
UMD 34sec, Card 12sec

Loading race2
UMD 18sec, Card 11sec

Exit race
UMD 16sec, Card 14sec

Exit to autosave to main menu
UMD 19sec, Card 12sec

So are you talking about downloaded versus UMD game, or installed versus uninstalled?

I have a UMD game, installed, and it never seems like it has to access the UMD at all.

I can hear my UMD drive activate for just a second or 2 doing in what I assume is a game check of some sort, then yeah, after that the UMD never seems to run at all.

So does the UMD have to be in the psp for the game to work even if you select to start the game from the memory card? I guess that would make sense bcuz otherwise you could just install the game on your friends memory card so he can have a copy.
