It is technically a crossover I guess, but it's really more of a "rugged" looking, taller(?) version of the A-Class hatchback.

Generally the point of a crossover is a jacked up sports hatch shape. Basically a sleek small 4x4 that probably doesn't have 4WD and definitely doesn't work off road.

Well, AWD is available (And standard on the AMG version, which this car is based on), but I doubt it's any good off road.

Also, I bet it'll be quicker to 60 (or 62) mph than 4.4 seconds. Car and Driver got 4.2 from a stock CLA45. I think Motor Trend tested a GLA45 at some point and got 4.3 or somewhere around that.

I'm aware of that. I'm saying most Crossovers are actually Front Wheel Drive as standard (much like the standard GLAs).

Yeah. Many of them are FWD based, including the GLA. But the AMG version mandates AWD, because 350 horsepower in a front wheel drive car is silly.
