The Unimog was created as a work horse after the Second World War, a vehicle for farmers that could serve in many roles, including as a pickup truck or tractor. The version that I am here suggesting is the '76 shape "Doppelkabine" (what we would call in English a "quad cab" or "double cab"). This Unimog has five seats, heavy duty four wheel drive including independent axle rotation, and a modest but extremely reliable 84 horsepower inline-six diesel engine.

It is certainly not a high performance vehicle, but the Unimog is regarded by many mud plugging enthusiasts to be the most capable off roader ever made. This 1976 'Mog in particular also has an endearingly dumpy retro appearance, and would make a great alternative vehicle to use on GT...
