someone needs to beat some of the japanese auto designers... some of the "new" models killed what the cars used to be.. IMO at least. .. like the poor skyline :nervous:

and yeah, Chrysler dropped the ball with the PT Cruiser... but.. most american cars aren't THAT bad.. at least not as bad as that thing
Yes, but I'm forgiving Chrysler for that mistake since it seems the new Chrysler Viper equilvlant (Firepower?) looks like a total monster.

I fail to see how Chrysler "dropped the ball" with the PT Cruiser. It does a good job of recalling 30's and 40's sedan deliveries and tudors and is actually a very good little compact car/wagon thingy.

You can stick a bunch of stuff in them, and the reliability (since it's all basically Caravan and Neon architecture) is stout. No, they're not performance cars and they aren't on the cutting edge of styling. They're not meant to be.

And, by the way, Chrysler sold an ungodly TON of them even with absurd dealer markups in the first few years. Any time you can take a moderately successful compact, dress it up with a different body, and score a ton of sales at excessive dealer mark ups, you don't "drop the ball", you toss it up and swish it through the net.

mclaren didnt contribute much with the slr. Just look at what merc did with the amg clk dtm road car. Limited to 199mph which wen remobved it can easily do 220mph but restricted as not to show up the slr.
