This is NOT a tuning thread. I'm not that smart yet.

Mid-Lim (or ML) Motorsports is a small company I'm starting up that works on cars in GT5 and converts them to real-life...err something. We offer tuning services where you can send me a car, we'll do what you wish to it, then send it back just like a real tuning shop.

"But I can do that myself..." is probably what you're thinking. Well, where's the fun in that? :dopey: If it's a new car, we can break it in, dyno the car, then add the parts you want and run a final dyno. Once we send you the car back we'll also send you the dyno sheets. Most cars will get a "Project Log" on our website so you can keep track of what we are doing. Most jobs will take roughly 7-10 days to complete.

Payment will be in the form of GT5 goods, for example:
  • Racing Suits
  • Racing Helmets
  • Tuning Parts
  • Cars

You can decide, as long as I agree that it's a fair trade. (wish we could trade credits!)

You can access the website from the link below. Check out our Project FD RX-7 that we just finished, as well as the Project S13 that we just started to get a feel for what we do. 👍

Any questions, feel free to ask.

Not something people are interested in?

Based on the past success, or shall I say failure, of those who have tried to be 'paid' for their work, Its safe to say, you won't get much attention.

It's a cool idea, I wish you the best of luck, but if history has any say in the matter, it's not going to happen.

The main issue I see, is that I'm not even sure what it is you're offering.
You want people to pay you to break in a car?
Bob does it for free, with a prize money as a bonus and no inconvenience of being without your car for 7-10 days.
You'll dyno the car? The in game dyno graphs are a click away.
You create real life replica designs? Jeremy_Craig has an entire thread dedicated to the same thing, free for all.

Like I said, it's a cool idea in theory, but in application, it doesn't seem to have any real purpose when you look at what's already available to people, without the charge.

Guess nobody likes to have any fun these days. :ouch:

Oh well, I'm going to keep doing my own project cars and people can follow along if they'd like.

So if I sent you my LFA to be tuned what are you looking for in return? I don't have a lot of racing gear but I have a lot of cars/tickets/paints.

How much are you charging for the RX-7?

I'll have to double check, but basically I'd be looking for things that are equal to the cost of parts. Maybe less depending on what you have.

Anything really, basically what I said above. ^^^

Well I can give you any amount of parts and Premium cars. I currently have 719 unique standard cars, all tradable premiums and plenty of paints. So you name the price I'll match it.

I've got no problems paying a tuner for quality work. But a sample tune would be nice to give people a feel of how your tuning style will match with their driving styles.

Payment also depends on what and how much work we do to the car. If it's just a suspension tune, then a racing suit and/or helmet works for me. If we're going a lot of stuff to a stock car, like I did to our project RX-7, then it'll be a lot more obviously.

What work?
The only thing your doing that takes time is breaking in new cars and that's easy enough to accomplish in a number of ways...most of which earn the owner money.
You don't actually tune anything...
RKM Motorsport Tuning www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=136731 Formerly RVV Motor Works, one of the top tuners from GT4, they're continuing their service in GT5 under a fresh new name. RKM's main aim is to produce high quality tunes that can be driven anywhere by anyone. Mid-Lim Motorsports uses RKM tunes exclusively on our cars!
So anyone can go to RKM here and 10 minutes later have a car tuned to RKM specs as long as there is already a tune for it.

Not trying to be harsh but if your going to try selling services make sure that what your selling is 1) yours to sell and 2) has an actual market value
Otherwise I have oceanfront property in Idaho for sale.:D

It's obvious you don't get it.

This is for fun. Make believe. It's like in real life, you have a stock car, you drop it off at a tuning shop, pay for some parts and their labor time, then you drive away in something special. Flyin' Miata, AMS, whoever. They all do in real life what I'm doing here.

Can you do this stuff on your own? Sure. Why have me do it? To add some fun to the game? Another element to the small game we call GT5. I'm simply asking for parts, etc in return because I can't take payment in credits as the game doesn't have that feature.

And I'm not selling RKM's tunes, you're taking that the wrong way. What you are paying for are the parts, and my time with the car. We just happen to use RKM's suspension tunes (where applicable) because I don't know anything about the finer points of tuning.

We take your car, tune it all up and in return you get fake dyno sheets, real part names in place of the standard GT5 descriptions, and some added fun when you drive the car knowing it's sort of a tuner car along the likes of something from HPA Motorsports, Amuse, RE Amemiya, etc.

Lighten up.

Edit: I just posted a new update on Project S13. 👍

Ok I have a LFA that has been tuned to a specific Spec but the engine is not fully broken in. Also I would like the LSD and suspension worked to race at Fuji F this weekend. I will send the car today. I also should still have you in my friends list from Spec Miata. I'll leave more details about the car in the dash compartment when you get it.

I'm interested in following along about your projects, R1600 - it's always interesting to see how the alien-fast guys do their tuning. Perhaps you should mention your "credentials" in the OP and the site? Some people may not know what you're capable of :)

Keep the originally planned setup too - you can sort of send credits, anyways: accept payment in the form of F40's

I have sent the LFA. one thing I wanted to say about the car don't tune with Ballast please leave it at the 0 position. And the transmission can be tune but must read the top speed at the upper right at 205 mph. That's all I ask. I can give you gear tonight when I get the chance and I'll send you some paints as well. After the reset I can send you a level ticket of your choice.

What's that car worth anyway? Might accept for larger projects, but what adeadsnipermatt wants here isn't worth an F40.

We'll get her done. 👍

I would have my car tuned but someone who has made it through all rounds of GT Academy and made it to silverstone. Plus the widely success of the Flyin Miata Spec Series. Looking for a good tune for the BMW M3 E92. Its for a race with adead /\.

Lol nice looks like Turbo is turning into our Race sponsor and tuning house.

Btw I might be trying the Spec Miata again once my weekend schedule opens up. Be fun to race with you again.

Your car sir, is finished. 👍

Also, I updated the first page of our website by adding some new content and also adding a "Projects in the Shop" section in the upper right hand corner of the home page. I will be updating Project S13 tomorrow as well.

I'm going to send the car over right now. Give it a spin for a few laps before you send anything my way. Want to make sure you're happy with it first. :)
