- No Intentional hitting/spinning out of opponents (if you accidentally take someone out wait and allow them to rejoin ahead of you before continuing racing)
- No Corner Cutting (2 wheels must be in line with track at all times)
- No swerve blocking while on the straight (one move rule)
- No trash talking or degrading remarks to other Racers
- You cannot pass by going off track
- You must yield to traffic upon returning to the track
- You must yield to lead lap traffic (blue flag)
- Be patient, the guy ahead of you is there because he qualified faster than you or overtook you, show some respect and bide your time. Unless Vettell joins the league he will make a mistake or create an opening at some point.
- If you’re involved in an incident, first save the replay that's located under the podium icon, view the replay to get better perspective on what happened. Send me a PM concerning the incident, specifying which lap/time the infraction occured on, I will take it from there. Even if it is me at fault, please do raise the issue I won't take it personally, just because I'm organising this doesn't mean I can get away with driving like a tw@
Qualifying
My lounge will be open about half an hour before we're due to kick off, at midnight the track will be reset and qualifying will begin, we'll allow 20mins after which the race will begin.
Race rules apply to qualifying as well, if you come off the track use your mirrors/map and be very careful re-joining so as not to ruin someone else's lap time
Use the mini map to give yourself a good distance behind the car ahead, drafting is not in effect during qualifying so being close to the driver ahead will only serve as a disadvantage
If you're happy with your time and want to stop qualifying, enter the pits and press start to pause the game, your car will then remain in the pits.
Please be careful not to press the start race button otherwise we'll have to qualify all over again
Race
As soon as qualifying time is up I will request everyone to enter the pits and hit pause, once everyone is in I will start the race, please remain in the pits as it seems to help the game sort the start grid out and get the game going without leaving someone behind.
Remember your tyres will be cold going in to the first corner, your goal on turn 1 should not be to get to the front, but rather to convert a double wide start field to a single file running order. Look ahead more than one car. Due to field compression, a compact field will run slower through the first few turns than a spread out one. Leave some extra space, but not too much. Drivers behind you won't be expecting sudden braking. In a crowded field, pinball is quite possible. A racer who runs into you may have been punted. Don't automatically assume malicious intent. I'll review the first corner closely and be issuing penalties to drivers at fault of being over aggressive in the first turn. A bit of bumping and rubbing is expected but a punt will not be tolerated, if you bump and cause an innocent driver to spin or go off at any point in the race, waiting for them to return ahead of you may just save you from receiving a penalty if it is your fault. If you wait for someone to continue ahead and they didn't lose places, then no penalty for a first offence (1pt if its a repeat offence), if they lose places and you waited 1pt penalty (2pts for repeat offences), if you don't wait 2pts penalty.
If you start the race but are disconnected due to lag you will receive points for last place, if you disconnect of your own accord you will receive a DNF and no points, it is easy to tell from the replay when someone is disconnected due to a bad connection. If you are suffering from lag you may be asked to leave the race, it makes it very difficult to race when someone in front of you is jumping all over the track, inevitably you end up hitting them and ruining both parties race. It's difficult to tell if you are lagging yourself and it will be up to other drivers to point out if it is getting bad and the replay will show it quite clearly, it can happen to anyone at any point and I view it similar to an engine blowing during a real race, only 8/10 races are counted in your final standings so if you score last place it's not so bad.
* To avoid connection issues during a race please try clearing your cache in the game or GT5 Port Forwarding on your router (thanks to allascato for providing the link)
