Midnight release?

It would be nice to get the game, install, then let it download while I (try) to sleep a bit....

I'm sure some people with go to a midnight release for the game, but I'm not sure if Gamestop has midnight releases for Gran Turismo games.

If the date doesn't change, they might. I'll have to ask my local Gamestop if they'll have theirs as they were originally going to have one for GT5 before the date got changed.

My Gamestop goes off of pre-orders. And since this game isn't stacked up with something like Halofield of Duty: Judgementation 4, I probably won't get it at midnight. Which sucks because I'd like to start the install/update process and probably catch some Zs myself.

I don't need to play the game for day one. I preordered the game, but I know that I will have hours and hours to play so I don't find personally a problem to wait a lot before playing it.

I asked them how GT6 pre orders were looking and they said they probably only have like 5-10 preorders. so with that being said i doubt they will have a midnight launch for me

There's only 8 or 10 at mine too. I won't be able to get it until 2PM when I get out of work. Then I'll come home and start it up to update and install when I'm in class and then play when I get home.

Unfortunately the game comes out 3 days before my final exams begin

I've had GT6 pre-ordered since it was announced and IF there is a midnight release I wouldn't go. Knowing that I have a copy paid for and waiting for me to pick it up is good enough. I only went to one midnight launch and that was Skyrim. I had the day off the next day so I thought I'd pick it up at 12 and play before I left the next day for a family gathering. I was shocked... people were waiting outside in November. People wore costumes and everything. Not before that moment or since have I felt like such a nerd ha ha.

My local Gamestop didn't have a GT5 midnight launch, and the hype differences between the two titles was night and day. I have no reason to believe there will be one for GT6.

If you know the guy, you can always buy it the 5th , also some large surface stores put games on shelves as soon as they get them, they can't be bothered to start monitoring each individual release date of every game, movie or cd, check your Walmarts.

I'll probably wander into EB Games a day early just to see if it's there. I'll tell him it's for my son and I'm heading out of town and really like to see the look on the little tyke's face when he first gets it...he worked so hard cutting grass all summer and saving money up just for this game...it would mean so much to the both of us don't you see?..

How is buying a new game from a dedicated game store, a scam?

Buying used sure but new? You pay the same price for new as you do anywhere else.

I buy all my games from ebgames, its the closest store to my house.

So I asked and they definitely aren't having a midnight release in my area. No big deal to me since I don't do midnight releases. As for buying from a dedicated game store, been doing since the Funcoland days (though its this time through online ordering and in-store pickup) so while I do get games from other retailers (usually if there are no worthwhile pre-order incentives to get the game on release and for dropped prices as I did with the last two F1 games), I still get the games on release from Gamestop.

I was told by EB Games here in Australia that there won't be a midnight release of GT6 with them. They are only allowed by their head office to have 3 midnight launches a year and this year (2013) they've had one for GTA5 and COD Ghosts, plus they are also having one for the PS4 and Xbone launches. With most stores being located inside shopping centre complexes, it's expensive to have part of the shopping mall open and parts blocked off, plus they have to pay overtime for the store staff and for the shopping mall's security too. But if they do a midnight launch for GT6, I'll be there at the front of the line!

Not my crappy GameStop. There are only 4 preorders, including mine and my son's! Our GS is a gathering point for XBots frothing at the mouth for shooters and annual sports games from EA.

Btw, our Target store already has the COD Ghost strategy guide on clearance for 70% off! The game isn't selling well either, almost as much of a flop as the WiiU in our store.

For GT5 they had it at midnight, I went down to pick mines up. For GT6 just go down to customer service on the 5th and enquire, usually they will tell you they will let you pick it up at Midnight if you are 18+.
