Midnight release?

For GT5 they had it at midnight, I went down to pick mines up. For GT6 just go down to customer service on the 5th and enquire, usually they will tell you they will let you pick it up at Midnight if you are 18+.

I haven't pre-ordered mine yet. But I've heard that if you head to wally world (ours are open 24hrs) they'll be stocking new materials the night before so if you just show up at 10 or 11 (that's 22 or 23 in the rest of the world) you can just grab a copy. Most of the employees there don't care and don't know what a gran turismo is :)

You can get those in other places not just dedicated gaming stores..Places like Eb and gamestop are horrid IMO, stopped shopping there years ago. Not to mention their trade-ins are a massive rip-off.

How is buying a new game from a dedicated game store, a scam?

Buying used sure but new? You pay the same price for new as you do anywhere else.

I buy all my games from ebgames, its the closest store to my house.

Those stores don't make anything off their new copies..they solely make all their profit on their trade-in rip=offs.

I understand that part, I was under the assumption that "new" game were a rip too, considering this thread is about a "new" game, GT6.

I never sell nor buy used anyway, only new.
 
My local Target and Big W stores always puts games on the shelf the day before the official launch, I don't think they know that that's braking embargo and they could get a huge fine. And every time I take a photo of the game in question on the shelf, go to EB Games and show them so they will sell it to me early but they do the right thing (right for them not the consumer) and tell me they have to ring the head office and get approval first before giving me the game early. So I then usually cancel my pre-order with them and go buy it early from Target or Big W, which is usually $10 to $20 cheaper too!! The only problem is the large stores like Target and Big W only have the plain version of games, so if I want collectors editions I do have to wait...

I did the above with GT5, Forza 4, Forza Horizon, MW2, MW3 and BioShock Infinity. And I'm not alone. That means that just from me, EB Games has lost at least $450 for "doing the right thing".
 
I checked with my local Gamestop and was told they wouldn't know until a week before the release. I did a preorder so I'll just go and pick mine up when I want. It could be in the teens here so I'm not freezing my a$$ off to stand in line.

I'll probably wander into EB Games a day early just to see if it's there. I'll tell him it's for my son and I'm heading out of town and really like to see the look on the little tyke's face when he first gets it...he worked so hard cutting grass all summer and saving money up just for this game...it would mean so much to the both of us don't you see?..:lol:

I'm not that desperate to play it at midnight.

I've pre-ordered mine as well, but I'll just pick it up on my way to work or something.

I still remember he said GT6 was coming for the PS4.

Also though he does know his stuff and has experience on the competition, he still is a GT fan so will be biased.

Internal plans in late 2012 were pointing in that direction. Changes have been made during early 2013. I reported that accordingly in the same place where I put the original rumor that found its way to GTPlanet at some point.

However, same "objective" and "neutral" sources that reported my original posting about GT6 being somewhat planned as PS4 title somehow forgot to also report my correction.

So, that much about "bias" and such labels.

I am automotive and racing-game fan and my most loving driving game of all time is F355 Challenge. However, my greatest respect in the industry goes towards GT series because it best fits into my personal and subjective idea about what constitutes a perfect driving game. I never cared about platforms or whatever, I play all games I can play and I enjoy all games I can enjoy.

If that means "bias", then okay, I can live with that 👍

I went to pre-order "Gran Turismo 6" at Gamestop on Monday. What does it mean when the employee types and taps and checks and asks if I "want it for the PS3 or PS4?" I asked her when it'll release for the PS4 and she said it would be the 6th of December.

I'm just here to say, heh? Whaaat..?

Oh and I hope for a midnight release. If there isn't one. Anarchy and Attica!

Ok...I just went to gamestop and they said no midnight release "yet", I asked them if it was possible for me to get it the night before and they said that I'll be fined $170k for copyright infringement :lol:
 
Ive pre ordered mine at my local Game, I don't know if they are doing a midnight opening but they do for the big game releases...I go in and ask next week and ill let you guys know..
 
Pre-ordered online , gonna be weird not to get Gran Turismo at 00.00-20secs like i did with GT5 :indiff:
 
I think it was excellent planning. By the time people start bragging (hopefully) about the game, others will be ready to buy!
 
IMO, I will never go to any sort of midnight release. I prefer to preorder my copy, have a good sleep then pick it up in the morning when all the sheeps are gone.

At this point in my gaming career, I would not go to a midnight release for any game. I'll just pick it up at my next opportunity on/after release day.

It's a good thing pre-orders are relevant these days. All those millions of Housewives and families that pre-order Mario sure set him up for success, right?
