*well that sucks - looks like the image hosting site I was using are being d1cks, hence all the red X's :grumpy:

Gee whiz - over 6 months since my last update

Well, the impending 2 year anniversary (which also co-incides with hitting 10,000 km on the clock) is about as good a reason as any to fix that :)

So yeah, only around 4,700 km done this year - probably 80% weekend traffic and 20% highways and back roads. Since I stuck the panel filter in, fuel consumption has shown a remarkable decline. Could be the panel filter..... or my right foot ;) This last 12 months has had me averaging about 8.7l/100km or ~27mpg. When in comfort mode it is pretty frugal, but when you stick it in sport or race mode, I am sure a hidden flap opens up somewhere and literally dumps fuel straight onto the road from the fuel tank. Hoon around for a bit and the fuel needle will just about move in front of your eyes.

So far head has triumphed over heart regarding a remap - I barely get to unleash 200hp on the road now, so adding another 25hp to that seems a bit of a frivolous exercise. Truth be told, 200hp is plenty for a car this size and mass, anything more and I'd be relying on willpower to keep my licence...

I think my head may be losing the argument on another mod - will keep you posted ;)

I still get big buzz out of driving the car, even if it's down the road to the shops. And the buzz is complete looking at reflecting of the LY paint whenever I can. Just cannot beat it when it is bathed in sun.

There are some annoyances, which I guess is part and parcel of any car. The media interface is highly annoying; a bit laggy and sometimes cracks the grumpies and refused to skip tracks on screen, the maps can very occasionally decide to reboot itself (usually at the worst time) etc.

Everybody flaps their chops at the EDC, but really, I don't want a manual and the EDC is perfect for my needs. I don't miss a manual for my application of the car in the slightest, and driven with some mechanical sympathy (the same one would extend to a manual), it is just about as smooth.

In terms of build quality - no complaints. Actually pretty robust - hit the edge of a pothole going uh...faster then I should have been on a country road and got out expecting a cracked rim. Got lucky 👍

On exceptionally bumpy roads there is a mystery creak in the passenger C pillar - but it comes and goes. The one semi-regular failure popping up on forums is that the cold air charge pipe between the intercooler and turbo splits at a poorly designed elbow, requiring a trip to the stealership to replace it. There are aftermarket ones, but that will be for post warranty - and I am hoping as I was at the tail end of phase 1, they sorted it out. All the ones splitting are 2014/15 ones with heavy mileage.

Renault has taken strides backwards in Australia of late - first cutting the warranty of new RS models from 5 to 3 years without announcing it (i could theoretically sell mine now with a longer warranty left than a brand new one) and they have made an absolute meal of the Megane4 RS's release, so a lot of fanboy's are turning to other brands now - a big pity really. Hopefully that turns around soon.

Still looking good & as @Shaun said, it's the right colour 👍

Update:

As mentioned elsewhere, I recently got back from a mini-roadtrip out to Bathurst and beyond. I was looking forward to it as much for the change of scenery as getting to send some time behind the wheel.

Overall it was a touch over 650km and I averaged around 47mpg (5l/100km) when I worked it all out at the bowser - pretty happy as the 200T does have a drinking problem around town where its up to 80% worse then that.

In Bathurst I of course made the stop at the "Mountain" and checked it out. Quite weird going there when it's a track returned to being a public road - all the advertising hoarding on the track bridges and track walls is still there. It's a 60kph speed limit and it's policed quite strongly, so I was a good lad ;)

I did a lap at 60kph - the change in gradient is huge going up the mountain and back down to Conrod. The Cutting is incredibly steeply inclined and completely blind approaching it .

I did a second lap and stopped for a few pics - below.

Overall, Mr Clio is doing great. It had it's service a few months ago and after reading the forums and seeing how the gearbox oil looks like blackbean soup after not long, I opted to get it changed even though it's not meant to be done for few years, if ever. Got absolutely boned on the cost of the oil from the stealership, lesson learned the hard way (Over $100/l!) - 2.2 needed! It is hard to source, even from parts shops, and even over the counter its about $30-40/l if you can find it, but yeesh. Had to be done, I am not taking any chances with a DCT maintenance schedule. That said, it's been flawless and I cannot complain.

I have opted against getting lowering springs or any other mods. I really love where it's at - comfortable for hours behind the wheel, but plenty nippy enough and fruity enough with the mid box chopped out, with zero drone 👍

Not surprised Mount Panorama is a public road, like for instance Nürburgring. But unlike say the Le Mans track which is a regular public road when it's not racing, I was under the impression Bathurst is a regular track.

Is it one way traffic like when you were there? So you can lap it but you have to wait for a trackday to give it beans?

Awesome photos as always, Bathurst is one of the tracks I would love to lap.

Bathurst is two-way traffic just like most public roads so, please keep left. The houses on the lap of the track use the circuit on a daily basis to come & go as they need.

The only 'track day' available is the upcoming Bathurst Experience where you'll see anything from a club-level competitor, all the way up to GT3 spec cars driven by the likes of International championship-winning drivers.
Your car would need to pass scrutineering & be ruled totally safe, you would need a suitable Competition Licence and....more than a few spare dollars. The entry fee is far from cheap  :scared:

Yeah, one of my bosses was doing it last year (he runs a custom built time attack R34 GTR) - I think it was up around $AUD5k.....
Yeah, when you look at how much Club Level motor racing you can do for $5k, they must really want to drive Mount Panorama.

All those involved in organising & marketing such an event, know this & will leverage it accordingly.

I had a Megane RS 275 drive past me today with the sun streaming onto its paint. It's an amazingly beautiful colour I must say. Even the wife commented on the colour and how good it looked.

Your photos give me flashback to when I was there earlier this year. Turn 11 (I think) is absolutely madness, you just can’t see what’s coming after, it’s so steep! Wish I knew parking alongside the road was allowed.

Now you can put a Bathurst sticker on your car :D

Yeah, there are signs every 30 or 40m shouting “do not park on the grass verge!”.
Wow! I thought they would’ve had the opposite attitude of
“Don’t even think about parking & blocking someone’s driveway.”
