Just found this while trawling the internet:
Minardi to return in 2010
The name Minardi is set to return to the Formula One grid in 2010. Paul Stoddart has allegedly entered talks with Toro Rosso's management to buy the team and re-introduce one of the sport's most famous names. Red Bull must sell Toro Rosso before 2010 in order to comply with new regulations relating to team ownership, and are said to be so impressed with Stoddart's proposal that he has become their preferred candidate.

Stoddart, the Australian-born airline magnate purchased the Minardi team in 2001 and renamed it 'European Minardi' before selling it to Red Bull in 2005. A campaign among fans was organised to keep the name Minardi in the sport in keeping with its twenty-year history, but Red Bull re-organised the team as Scuderia Toro Rosso, becoming the first team in the sport's history to own two teams on the grid.

Stoddart initially intended to return to the Formula One grid a year later, but the final entry was awarded to Prodrive, who never made use of it. Stoddart is said to be excited about a return to Formula One after several years racing in ChampCars, believing his return is long overdue. In a statement released to the media, he states his intention to see the power of the Formla One Teams Association (FOTA) increase dramatically, a campaign he will be spearheading as he did in early 2005.

As an Australian and a motorsport fan I love this proposal. Minardi did so much to start drivers careers. Alonso, anyone? What about Webber? And they have such a rich history, which I love in a team. I fully support this proposal

Another April fool i'll bet. ( In a statement released to the media, he states his intention to see the power of the Formla One Teams Association (FOTA) increase dramatically, a campaign he will be spearheading as he did in early 2005. ) With a comment like that there is no way he will get entry, so he won't of said it = April Fool.

I take it that this means they would have to design their own car rather than getting a slightly changed RB?

Very clever. While I wouldn't put it past Stoddart to say exactly that and expect the FIA to send out a gilt-edged invitation to join the grid, it is a April Fool's Day joke. I was wondering whether I should include it or not, but I decided I needed something of a give-away lest people actually take it seriously.

But even without that sentence or two, there's one thing that points this out as a fake: I didn't link to an article. Every time I post news in this subforum, I always have a credible news story attached. But in tis case, I didn't, which was the other thing that points to this being nothing more than an Aprils Fool's Day joke.
