I played Minecraft a month or so ago both on the PS3 and on the PC. I noted in the PS3 version (as a VERY late bloomer) that horses were finally added to PS3 Minecraft. I think I successfully tried to mount a horse in PS3 Minecraft. I long had a tamed horse in PC Minecraft. Other than that, there's nothing really new I've done in Minecraft.

Here's an off-topic deal I wanted to share. When I wanted to try to learn Java by buying a book on Java programming months ago, I was torn between two different books I wanted to get. The one I eventually got had a nice little bonus to it. There is an entire section of my Java book dedicated to Java programming for Minecraft. I haven't tried it or used any of the coding ideas, but it speaks to the level of greatness and popularity of Minecraft- even down to the level of learning how to program.

Those are my latest Minecraft musings.

I know that you can upload a minecraft world from your 360 and basically import it to the Xbox one, but can you send it back to the 360 as well? Say I wanted to work on a world on the Xbox One and then send it back to the 360, just wondering if this is possible.

Unfortunately no, you can only transfer worlds from previous gen to current gen.

Thanks, much appreciated. That will help me plan accordingly before I make the switch.
Let me know when you pick it up for the X1. I haven't played MC in a while but always enjoy playing with new players. Plus I can help guide you with the process. ALso keep in mind its only $5.00 on the X1 since you already have it on the 360.

Keep in mind you will eventually want to start a new world on the X1. It will allow you to unlock achievements and the worlds will be much larger. You can also have multiple worlds so you wont lose anything from the 360. Just make sure you "export" the world out of the 360. Then "import" it into the X1. You will need both systems to do that.

Definitely will take you up on that, we went on a 4 day vacation last Thur-Sun, I brought the 360 along and connected it to the hotel tv. I played some minecraft while everyone was getting ready in the morning, managed to build a portal, went into the Nether and lasted maybe 5 mins lol, just got annihilated, portal was destroyed, I died trying to defend it from pigmen and ghasts, lucky I saved before I went there. Next time I am going to try and build a shelter around it so they can't destroy it, if I have that much time. They were all over me in a hurry.

I am trying to finish up a railway system around the entire map before I transfer the world over to the Xbox one, I'm about 75% done with it.

Yes the nether can be tricky depending on where the portal spawns. Always best to save first like you did. Then go in with multiple people trying to block it off immediately from the enemies. Make sure you bring in flint and steel in case the portal gets wrecked. You can just re-light it.

Also as I said, you can still start a new world if you want on the X1 and work on the old world too. You can have multiple worlds. I think at one point I had at least 7 or 8 different worlds on the 360. You can also transfer the 360 world over at ANY time. Its a very fast process. Takes maybe a minute if even that.

Thanks to you and Stevo for the help this weekend getting the nether shelter built. I was able to get some Glow stone (a lot) last night, now I just need to go back in and get a blaze rod.

I bought the Natural texture pack and played a bit in the new world I created last night, explored a little bit and built a solid shelter. I found some large pyramids in the plains area near my shelter, going to explore them a bit more the next time I play. The natural Texture pack looks awesome! I am impressed about the size of the worlds, much bigger than the 360. Crazy big.

I downloaded pixelmod. I have no idea what to do to get it to work on my PC. Can someone explain in more depth than drop the zip file in mods folder?

Yes it was a blast. So glad you finally picked it up for the X1. Glow stone is very valuable especially in survival mode. I can show you a lot of cool stuff you can do with that. If you have a silk touch pick axe it allows you to obtain the glow stone as a solid block. Any time you are on you are always more than welcome to shoot me an invite in your old or new world. Always so much to do in mc and its such a chill game.

Hey Dunc, reckon you could whitelist me again? Got a new graphics card so will be able to start playing again.

Finally decided to buy this on PS4 for a nice £12. Played the tutorial yesterday and am going to attempt (Key word here is attempt) to built the most awesome building ever. And I will probably fail, it will probably go up in flames and I will die a horrible mushy death

Decided to try building stuff and over 3 in game days I have built a little house and a small dockyard next to it. Video of Day 1 will be up today and each day will be added each Monday!

Edit: Day 1

I had no idea blowing up a house could be so beautiful. I was playing on the PS3 edition and decided to blow up my test house on my test world. Filled most of it to the ceiling with TNT and detonated it with a short trail of redstone and a torch.

It was beautiful because of the music playing in the background and just when I was destroying the last few blocks, the sun began rising up after a huge rainstorm the previous day.

Once the sun came up, I switched the camera around so it was facing my character and I flew up into the sky, to the point where the ground and clouds disappeared, leaving me in a hazy blue abyss where only the sun was above, and the moon was below.

It felt powerful, me just floating there in a suit, holding a block of TNT. If I was destroying a home i worked on for a long time in survival, I think it would feel much bigger, like I was finally leaving something behind, you know?

Right now, although I'm sure many people have done this, I'm working on making a working Five Nights At Freddy's 3 Custom Map. So far, I've got the phone calls in a resource pack and now I'm working on Night 1. Each night is about 8 minutes and 30 seconds, so I need to find out how to convert that into Minecraft Ticks. Anyone have an idea?

Good luck on your map! :)

I decided to make a new test world to decide on how I'm going to build an A-10 Warthog replica (Spoiler: It doesn't look great, but it will do) for a prank against my friend. See, we both love that plane, so I was hoping the next time we play, he can build a nice home for himself on a mountain, or a relatively flat area. Then, I'd have the plane positioned to look like it was going to do a strafing run on his house with the cannon.

After I built that, I made another test world, and tried out several types of Quartz blocks behind Sugar Cane, since I had an idea for an office/board room/modern home. Once I found a block I liked, I decided to make the room bigger. I thought to myself that it would need proper lighting, so I built two rows of Redstone Lamps. It took me a little while, but I figured out how to wire them so they would turn on/off in sequence. I was actually very pleased with the end result.

On the wall opposite of the Sugar Cane, I covered it with paintings and made a secret room with a chest full of Diamond blocks. I only did that to test if paintings could still be placed with part of it on signs, but since I built the entrance, I figured I might as well make it lead to somewhere, you know? ;)

I'm mostly playing the game on the PS4.

I saw a YouTube video with a design for a mob spawner... at the top of the map! I tried that with an enhancement, plus another cuople of my own design at the top of a tower above the side entrance of my base. One of the two designs wasn't particularly good so I remade it as my other design.

Having gone down to Lv 65 on enchanting a sword the other day, I am back up to Lv 85 or so! That, inbetween the building and modifying of the last spawner. There does seem to be fair number of Witches spawning from time to time.

Quite a trek up the tower to the area to attack the mobs (around 20 blocks down from the ceiling of the map). There is a spiral staircase in the tower though which isn't too bad.

Do Zombies and Skeletons (maybe Creepers, too?) have the advanced pathfinding AI that the PC version does, or do they behave like Zombie Pigmen and run straight towards you, ignoring any threats (Lava, fatal drops, etc)?
