What a horrible little car, correction, fat good for nothing car.

It has the same 1.6 engine, which in a normal Mini, in a decent tune, goes 'alright' but when you make a Mini into a C-Segment overweight barge, and leave the same 176bhp engine in it, its truely horrid.

Can't imagine anyone likes it, but I might be possibly missing something, I don't see how.

Honestly, I don't find it worse - nor any better - than the other Mini's. In my opinion they're all bad .

I kinda like it's style , I may go ahead and max out the turbos on one to see if it gets any better as far as power goes, I'll let you know how it comes out 👍

I can't speak for everyone certainly, but I definitely hate it. In fact I hate all of the 'modern' mini coopers.

Especially the dashboard.. one of the ugliest and most obnoxious things I've ever seen.

So we DO NOT have to turn this into a "that's stupid I hate hybrids thread" but anyways here's the Mini with full boosted turbos and stage 5 weight reduction (no engine swaps, multipliers, or anything crazy) actually turned into a descent little car :) ..

The dashboard is ugly. But I quite like the rest of it.

I like the Mini's. However, I think PD made a mistake in not choosing the 4wd version of the Countryman.

500BHP in a FF? No thanks, like Jawehawk said, the 4WD would have make much more sense. The countryman is basically Mini's jeep. Why PD would chose a FF over 4WD is crazy.

I like it, bit dissapointed it wasn't the all 4 model but I think new cars are cool.

I actually like it, drove many laps on various tracks with it, here is a tune I made for Laguna Seca, it was tuned for lap time at DeadnutsEven, but you can increase the power as you see fit :D

I posted this tune on Mini Seasonal races event too.

Yes here it is, I kept thinking that to myself 'if only it had 4WD', but this way they get away with selling us a new skin (and new interior) with basically only adding a weight ballast to the car as standard, so this method is more profitable.

@Ridox, surely a Mini Cooper S '05 with a supercharger, using the same tune would be loads more fun right?

I love my Countryman. Pushing 300HP and is quite fun to whip around Nurburgring. In fact, I'm breaking the engine in at the moment.

Well, yeah, it's up to the driver preference, but I didn't see any fault with the car, it has good handling with the tune, if it's too heavy, just do weight reduction on it :D I also don't mind the boxy look.

I'm not particularly fond of it. But I paid real money to have it, so whatever.

While an AWD Countryman would certainly provide more traction out of corners, in real-life, it's a heavy, clunky, clumsy and tall MINI. AWD does nothing for the Countryman, and aside from the torque-steer, I'd take the FWD Countryman Cooper S over the AWD one, any day.

The MINI ALL4 system is not a rear-biased juggle-happy sporting system as seen on something like a Mitsubishi Evo. It's just a Haldex system that squirts power rearwards on occassion. MINI's standard FWD system equipped with an LSD is much more fun on the road.

All boils down to preferance. I can't stand it. It handles well, but why use that over the other DLC Mini? It's exactly the same, but heavier, and (matter of opinion) uglier.

I'd give Top Gear inspired advice;

If you want a charming, good handling Mini Cooper Sport, by a Suzuki Swift.

Half price and more powerful. The Countryman does handle surprisingly well though.

Anyone that doesn't appreciate the Minis needs to try them on gravel, they're a blast for front-drivers. The Countryman is capable but lacking compared to its little brother. We don't ever have more than one passenger in GT5.

I love it, but I have to agree that I have no idea why they didn't give us the all4.
I ended up hybriding my own JCW all4 Cooper S and it is a blast to drive. :-P

Personally the old Mini is my favorite, but I don't mind the "regular" modern Minis.

But I do hate this one. The whole point of a Mini is because it's small and has character. When it's made big and cumbersome like this it's like they're taking away what's unique about it. I just don't get it.
